Why does dota and lol players hate each other so much?

is there a reason why they hate each other? i have tried both and they were both pretty good (but my fav is dota 2) please answer!

this makes sense, all Doto players hate on LoL because we know you will most likely have way more fun with the more difficult version , yet you deny yourself the pleasure that comes with more difficulty.

One of the reasons that I read about elsewhere is that, back when DotA Allstars was still a big thing and League was just getting started, one of the Developers that went to work for Rockstar used his administrators access (I think) to take down what was at the time the most important (or only) real DotA forum, including thousands of conversations, debates, suggestions for balance and hero builds, etc, and essentially refused to give it back, instead posting a link and advertisement to League in it's place.

I don't have all the details, and I only read up on this third-person, and there are some disagreements on exactly who did what, and said what, but AFAIK it's part of the root cause for why a lot of DotA veterans have an intense dislike of League's developers, and by extension, the game.

This is why i dont like LoL and im not going to play it.

I meant taht some people like easyier games.

otherwise games like call of duty would never ever become popular.

as for myself I like more difficulty games and thats why I prefer the old doom games and serious sam

Pendragon shut down DotA Allstars and /private on all threads, basically removing them for anybody but himself and then kept taking ideas for heroes from that very forum.

ah sorry but league of legnds is way to long to write everytime ( and then again im not writing defence of the ancient though wouldnt mistake dota for some kind of laughing)

I think the reactions from different people prove my point nicely about how it was and IS a major source of friction between the two groups.

From what I understand, the forums (which served as the then equivalent of a combination of Steam, dev.dota, and playdota) where taken down entirely, and despite promises that they would be re-released in a read-only form, it took several YEARS for this to actually be done.
