2013 International Pass. Why?
So I recently, along with a few friends, got to a level and unlocked a chest that contained the 'The International 2013 Pass'. I was just wondering why? considering the date was March 2014.

So please fix this, Is it posible to swap any 2013 Passes that haven't been used(like mine, because it couldn't be) for a 2014 Pass.

I am completely confused as to why I was given an expired item for leveling up...

Thanks for reading,
Kieron.

Yeah The same thing happened to me. As far as I can tell all it does is let you watch the tournament whenever you want...which is useless.

It's just to show you how to use tourny passes. The International is free to watch.

Thank them for giving me free, out-of-date content? That's not Steam being nice, it's more of a bid F U to the community.

*facepalm*

All the stuff they give you in those chests are freebies to teach you how to use certain items. The International 2013 was free, so they created a ticket for it (instead of just having it...there) and gave the ticket to literally everyone.

International 2014 will almost guaranteed be free as well, so you aren't missing out on that either. Also, pro-tip: anything related to TI4, beyond the physical tickets for attending the event, is not out yet. And Valve doesn't have exclusive ownership over the other tournament proceedings, so they can't just give it away, and it makes no sense to.

Besides, The International 2013 is a great place to start watching pro Dota 2 - it's 12 of the best teams from around the world playing extremely high level Dota 2, and sets the stage for how Dota 2 meta developed from TI3 -> TI4.

Saying "Ugh, why TI3" is like saying "Ugh, why the Super Bowl/FIFA World Cup." You're turning down the best collection of Dota 2 matches in the past year. Also, the QUALIFIERS started in March. The TOURNAMENT was in August.

I got mine in December and it was out of date to. You can still watch the replays from it with your ticket though.

I understand all of this, what I am asking is why they didn't teach me about it with 2014, I cannot use the ticket, so don't know how it works still, ironically. If they gave out 2014 ones, I'd be able to test it out.

you want to watch something that hasn't happened yet ? They're Valve not Marty McFly...

They gave TI3 ticket so that you can view Replays anytime.

"Able to test it out"?

TI4 won't be out for a few months. What significance would it then be to ask for a TI4 ticket in April to 'test it out'

Basically the thing you're asking for is as useless as what you have now.

This post is so.. I don't even know anymore.

no, but I cannot use the ticket, I'd rather have a ticket I can use, and be shown to use, than it be pointless. I think everyone is starting to miss the point a bit...
