i just played 2 games where the same guy was in a russian that called mid and feeded, after he left. i lost 50 points just because of a noob player...

Play a game on russian server, and then a game on US server(not eu west, as eu west becomes russia2). The difference is huge. No russian would ever buy a courier. Or would ever support. Or even help. They just want to grind kills.
Probably not every russian is like that. 1 of the friends on my friendlist is a russian who likes to support as treant and does a good job(I played on russian server because he invited me there). But there are definitely more russians who play selfish then in other countries.(some say the south americans play like that, too. but I didnt met enough of them to say anything about them)

Personally i have the same amount of bad experiences with american players and national players. Being of a nationality doesn't ruin dota. Just being a selfish person that gives no thought to anyone or thing but yourself is the real "cancer"

Its frustrating playing on a team of people that you cant communicate with and seem to have no understanding or awareness of their surroundings, but it feels worse to play with someone you expect to be able to relate to and it turns out theyre bent on being rude inflamatory, condescending, showing complete insensitivity and disregard for your feelings and the feelings of those around them.

Co3mmunication is important, but pinging is sufficient for most games. It does help if you speak the same language but if you are a good team, you won't need to talk/write. Just think about it this way: if you had Russians on your team and you win, despite the fact you didn't communicate - would you care? Certainly not, because you won. But if you lose, you blame them for sure. And that's not ok imho.


People having double standards is the main problem, respectively a massive presence of Dunning-Kruger. I take my time to check the matches if IDs are provided. And most of the time, those people complaining about Russians ruining their games actually are sore losers who just blame others, while sucking at Dota themselves. They fail at simple tasks and are not able to make the right decisions in certain situations during the game. They might get their farm or buy the items needed, but they suck overall pretty hard. They have no map awareness, they don't try to use tactics. They just do same things wrong all over.
And their team mates do so, too. If the Russians in such a team would speak English, there would be no difference, because the problem is a lack of skill and not a lack of communication. But it is easy to say it is the latter, since then you won't have to question your own gameplay performance at all.


The whining is all the same, doesn't matter what it s about. Look at the forums and all the threads. People QQ because they think they deserve better, even though their behaviour is ♥♥♥♥. There is a huge issue of selective perception all over the place. Those people feel superior and do blame others for their own incompetence.

Also it is logical, that only bad behaviour is noticed, while good behaviour is not noticed, since those people just don't stand out at all.


So why are there so many complains about Russians? First of all, people don't distinguish between Russians and other nationalities. Cyrillic script is used in many different countries and Russian is a language that is spoken in many different countries, not only in Russia.
Thus, many people blame Russians, even though the player is not Russian at all.

Also the Russian player base is huge. Because of that, the percentage of Russian players, respectively Russian speaking players is much higher compared to other countries.
English is so dominant, because it is used by so many people. If everyone would speak his/her own language in Dota, the percentage of English wouldn't be that high, probably somewhat similar to Russian.

A huge part of the player base speaks English, the other part speaks Russian. That's why the contraposition seems to be so extreme.

hate ignorant people who think they deserve better and feel superior towards other nations, just because they are born and/or live in a different nation.

You can draw on minimap so you can tell others that they have to Flank or run to a specific position, you can PING on map, you havea damn Chat wheel.

And i have seen by far many arrogant people who also speak english who do nothing else but INSULT AND INSULT in the chat but not gaming, and blaming EVERYONE else.

A Bad shooter blames, the wind, sun light, communists or martians for not hitting the target, a good shooter only blames himself.

because speaking english =/= britsh or american its somewhat like an international speaking language. but speaking russian = russian or some slavic people.
