ss was written to me after a game ended in Paladins, I typed to my enemy, good job, and he typed ss, what could it mean? stay safe? super skill?

Definitely means stay safe, from the good ol' defense of the ancients. To be honest I was playing a lot of LoL in 2010-11 and found some old dota chat logs and saw myself saying SS.

Randomly started googling tonight and saw a previous postsr say they were told it meant stay safe and the memory rushed back for me

Wrong. SS means special skill (ultimate). At least in SEA server.

SS refers to the side shop (no longer in game), or the secret shop (still exists). Back when they both existed it was a tossup which one your buddy was informing you he was going to. That aside you necroed a long dead thread.

back in dota (1) it just meant enemy is missing so don't blame me if you get killed/stay safe followed by top - mid - bot. basically ss mid. it still meant enemy missing a few years back from what i remember but with the chat wheel it just puts automaticaly the lane.

also yeah... i don't get why people necro threads. especially this one if you take a look at it it gets necro every couple of years.

it is widely use in the Philippines back in the dota1 days. we didnt call the name of heroes skill by the name of their skill instead we just say, first skill, second skill, third skill, and of course 'SS' or Special Skill/Super Skill or ULTI
