Blinkdagger on Tidehunter? Why ?
Title is more to lure you into the post though, I can understand why you build blink on him.

But I think Tidehunter is incredibly much more effective without one. If you play him support, which I think he's absolutely terrible at and a waste of such good tank, I would go blink. But otherwise no way.

His kraken shell is one of the most powerful tank passives, only bested by Bristleback's. Tide is a superior tank, he can just walk into the enemy. Ignore all CC, possibly return damage with blademail and reduce the enemy damage by 40%.

Really the guy can just litteraly WALK INTO the enemy and be incredibly dangerous. Why would you waste blinkdagger on him? Not only is it a waste of gold, which you couldve put into more STR and some semi INT items such as Veil and Blademail, but it's also a waste of slots.

Tide doesn't need blinkdagger. He can just walk into the enemy, and they either flee or get Ravage'd(if they trigger bkb just sit it out, if your gold is even you will easily survive the carries by running around a bit. CC isn't a problem anyway).

He's one of the most potential midlaners as well. He's way more dangerous in high level/skill plays than pudge mid, and also way more useful lategame. Since he can dive towers without taking the slightest damage early game, nomatter if you have wards or not. He will dive you.

Tl dr; blink dagger is a waste on Tidehunter. Tidehunter is the best utility tank ingame and should farm either sololane or mid.

What? Are you reacting on the original post or on the fact that he's russian? Because his account simply says that

Will post some IDs soon. You should try it yourself though. I've done this:

1.Go mid, doesn't really matter which you're up against. There's little that can kill you in mid.
2.Farm until level 6
3.Items urn of shadows, null amulet(builds into Veil) and boots by now
4.Gank lane, easily get 2 kills. If the enemy sees you because of wards, ignore them still walk into the lane and dive them

From that point onwards you're already ahead. I build Veil, urn, boots depend on the game, heavens halberd or sange and yasha(depends on the game again), armlet or reaver(depends on the game) and blademail. Bit tanky dps-ish.

I'm not gonna say much about how you feel about tide not having blink, but for tide to be effective in teamfights, you need to not get stunned before letting off his ravage. Same goes with heroes like ES and Sand King. You could also go shadow blade or force staff with this principle but for me, tide makes a better impact with blink by surprising the enemy team.

- the thing is, the skillset of tide is suited to initiating a teamfight and nothing more. Walking into the middle of them is not initiation since they can just walk away. With a blink on him your team can choose when to fight, if you walk then the opponents can decide if they wanna fight this or run away.

- Sharky is not from Russia but from Chez rep by the way, and his question was kinda valid since your approach show that you dont play him or play him out of his role aka. badly

- A quick look on your dotabuff reveals that you 1) build a lot of blink daggers on him and 2) you build things like armlet and daedalus on him. I dont really wanna comment on this except that indeed you play him out of his role. There are heroes that are flexible and can play different roles but I dont think Tide is one of them.

- Tide indeed goes on sololane or mid a lot but the reason for that is he needs to get to lvl 6 as fast as he can to have an advantage oer the enemy team, not that he needs farm.

- You can get away with things like armlet on tide in pubs, but that doesnt make it a valid build.

Yea I agree. That's when you build him support ish though. Tide is much different than ES and Sandking because of his Kraken shell. It removes all forms of debuffs with the threshold.

Try it. If you get stunned by alch, and then get nuked, the stun vanishes. So it works incredibly well if you build him tank.

I know how he works Ty. It's just that in pubs, people don't normally give you midlane to farm, or space to make such luxurious items. If you have a team which agrees to your strategy, then go for it. But when things go wrong, don't expect yourself to go unpunished when you lose the game.

You're just being arrogant now. I disabled sharing match history a while ago because people would get at things you say now. Stupid builds I tried on heroes I played little(also just for messing with friends).

You give 0 arguments in all the things you said apart from part 1. You just say 'it isn't valid period'. They can just walk away is excactly what I said. They can flee, they can run from you.
But what if you're defending? Fleeing isn't at all an option in many stages of the game. If they flee, you already have the upper hand.

Also, if I build deadalus on him because i was just having fun, doesn't mean 'I play him that way'. That's just stupid imo

He can pretty well carry a team in terms of utility. I barely lose as him. And I'm not lying.
