Lifesteal with Moon Glaives (Luna)

I'm pretty sure that moon glaives bounces proc regular lifesteal with HoD and mobid mask etc. and the glaives also proc with Octarine Core's lifesteal, but how does the Octarine Core lifesteal and regular lifesteal differ with something like Luna's moon glaives? -Thanks

Octarine Core don`t have lifesteal.

Not sure I completely understand the wording, but i'll give it a go.

Lifesteal does not apply on the glave bounces, only on the initial hit.
Octo core only steals from ability damage, so the glaves will work

the item doesnt specify, so i'd assume it works for every spell.

Honestly, I don't know. Apparently, you can even life steal with radiance. The glaives from Luna, in question, will also life steal with octarine (not the main attack, only the glaives that bounces). Maybe spells like Death Ward from WD or the mines from Techies since technically, it's the ward unit dealing damage and not the hero himself. I'm not sure though. Just assuming here.

Techies' mines? Not quite sure if that counts for what you're asking.

I'm not 100% familiar with all the minutia of regular Lifesteal- for example do you regen health from cleave damage? I think that Octarine Core is a little more complex than just "everything except normal lifesteal".

The easiest way to resolve this, I think, would be to just test it out. Set up a lobby and then perform a single attack at a time, both with and without Core, and see if one regens more health than the other.

I think I'll check some of these interactions on Reborn. I saw someone with Naga building Rad and Octarine. If it works as I think it does, it's pretty nice.

actually Bounces do not proc normal Lifesteal, it's stated in the wiki page just the first Glaive hit procs it, there's people that confirms that with Octarine, Glaive Bounces count as "spell Lifesteal" , but I never tried building an Octarine on Luna, I don't seem to fit it in my build

well, I guess it's because the bounces are actually "spells" and the main attack isn't. That's probably why normal life steal only procs on the main auto attack while the spell life steal only happens with the bounces.

As for Octarine Luna... Maybe a nuker build with Aghs? Sounds out of place, but it may work if you want to try something different, I guess (just don't be sad when people use BkB lel).

So... a quick test here, just as expected, heroes that summon a ward unit to deal damage, like Witch Doctor with his Death Ward, Techies with is mines, Venom's wards, Shadow Shaman's Serpent Wards and maybe some others, they can't life steal with Octarine.

Radiance + Octarine works though and this sounds very BS. I'll be picking Naga later to do this lel.

but lets assume you only hit heros = 25% lifesteal

level 4 u have 6 bounces eacht bounce does 35% less damge..

and let guess u have 100 damge (all targets 0 armor)

1=65damge; 2=42. 3=27, 4=17. 5=11, 6=7damge...

a total of 169damge for glaive*25%leech= 42hp leech...

on the other hand with HoD 100damge*15%leech= 15hp leech :D

so if you would buy ocatrine you would leech more if you only hit heros :D
so troll build aghas octarine confirmed :DDD

It will severely crip your pushing power and auto attack damage though since while both Aghs and Octarine gives a lot of heath and mana, they don't give any agility or bonus damage (only the 10 agility from Aghs). I think it might work if people aren't relying on you to be main the carry. Can be good if the enemy team has a lot of armor and you don't expect them to buy BkB (guess it can still work if they buy. just need to pay attention to when you should use).
