Is LoL More Fair and Skill Oriented than Dota?
I'm refering to the amount of RNG in Dota. I'm aware it's a pseudo RNG but there's still a random element to actions like crit, bash, dodge, etc. Also the upper ground RNG advantage, Roshan and buffs not having constant timers. All of these things make the game more luck oriented than skill or strategy oriented.

No i think that DOTA 2 is more skill oriented than lol because lol doesn't punish taht bad when you die. When you die the one that killed you steals your gold

And many factors between winning a fight and losing a fight are based on random chance. How is that skillful?

LoL is about landing skillshots.
Dota is about having the right strategy and decision making as well as teamwork.

Skillshots require skill, right?...

Most people would agree that the reason Cloud 9 and CLG have risen above everyone else in the NA scene is due to their strategy and mid-late game deicision making. Cloud 9 might not be the most mechanically talented team in NA, but because they make such good decisions they win almost every game. I would say both games require a good deal of strategy and teamwork to be very good at.

In any event, that isn't the point of the topic. I'm asking, is LoL more fair and skillful due to the lack of the prevalence of -Random- Chance as a core mechanic of Dota.

LoL has less RNG mechanics, if that's what you're asking. There's no longer things like %-based dodge, and you need actually buy critical hit items if you want crit. Skills also have less random effects, there are no thigns like Chaos Knight.

As others mentioned before, LoL you cannot win fights with getting lucky with your chaos bolt etc,. you need actually think ahead and calculate if you can wijn fight or not, takign note of enemy team summoner spells, ult cooldowns, and how powerful they are (fed). It just requires different way of thinking, instead of tryign out your luck like you could try do here, adn still win fights just because your evasion actually worked, or your critical hit passive procced. That kind of things are mostly eliminated from LoL.

You may think yourself if its more fair & skill-oriented, but I find it bit unfair when someone can win teamfights just by getting lucky crit on their passive when their items do not have any critical chance etc.

I agree, in LoL you have to be like a TI-83 calculator.

-Thinks LoL is more balanced than DotA
-Has 11 hours of DotA
You need to play it more to get a better understanding of why random chances don't affect gameplay much. Simply put, NOT getting "lucky" doesn't put you at a disadvantage, but getting "lucky" doesn't make you overpowered either. So it balances out.

Very true.

I have roughly 70 hours total on both accounts. It's far from the 1000+ most people in this thread have, and I agree I don't know everything about Dota. That's why I'm phrasing my post as more of a question than a statement.

Out of curiosity, why do you say random chance doesn't effect gameplay much? If that's true, why don't they remove the RNG elements? IE I want numbers and examples.

that would make anything that had some sort of RNG factor to be OP,
PA would always evade, Axe would always spin, and every single effing crit would proc...

That's pretty much my point that RNG plays a factor in the outcome of fights.

This thread is completely invalid. Clearly a fanboy of LoL and has only played 11 hours yet he reckons he can comment on fully how dota is? Dota will always be better than LoL for the smarter people. No competition.
