What needs to happen is that the smokescreen needs to be split into 2 abilities with the same cooldown and share points, 1 is the silence, 1 is the miss chance. No more of this no fighting back ♥♥♥♥.
Smoke Screen is like one of Riki's biggiest abilities during teamfights...
- Bounty Hunter: His ultimate which he will use on Riki as soon as Riki shows himself
- Slardar: His ultimate will reveal and decrease the armor of the target greatly.
- Zeus: His second skill (usually at hotkey w) will give you true sight for a short amount of time at the area you are using it
And the item "Necronomicon" on level 3; one of the summoned units has true sight.
People also hate him because it is "easy" to play invisible heroes. Likewise they hate Sniper because you are "only" right clicking heroes from far range with headshot procs etc.
My advice to you is that you should not listen to these people calling you noob. If you are dominating the game, how come you are the noob? IF Riki was OP, he would get nerfed. IF Riki was a special hero that would always (or almost always) win we would see that hero in competitive play. The pro players rarely (almost don't) pick Riki in competitive games which might be because it is actually not hard to detect him using wards, dusts and having gem. He also needs time to get strong unlike some other carries. Riki doesn't do anything at the beginning of the game unlike some other heroes who can fairly threathen enemy heroes.
If you are winning with him, then enjoy playing Riki and stick with him and increase your winrate.
Though this won't work if you're outnumbered and/or outgunned already, it's surprising how often this will save you in even encounters, even in big teamfights, since you can simply wait for him to deal his mediocre damage, THEN throw your spells and run or ♥♥♥♥ all over him. Even a squishy Hard Support can pull this off by himself if Riki isn't snowballing yet (one of my favourite examples was while playing Rubick, and using Beserker's Call with an allied Tusk with hilarious results).
The hero has been created for a purpose and if it was OP - as I said - it would get nerfed. I don't think Riki is OP. What people also forget is that you have to put pressure on him at the beginning. Some people trend to buy sentry wards and dusts when they have died three times to Riki or when he has got this item and that item. When you realize that Riki is on your lane one of your support should provide that lane with sentry wards. And if Riki is silently farming a lane you should gank him. Again, nothing special with that hero he is like other carries: DON'T GIVE ENEMY CARRIES TIME. Gank them constantly.
Plus he is hard to call missing since a good riki will know where your wards are. Makes for a great ganker. Either the enemy team goes broke trying to ward the whole map or I dominate early to mid game. Usually how it goes most games especially if I have any decent support.
People who think invis detection automatically shuts down any riki haven't met a good riki.
Edit: just saw someone posted before me. LoL @ bkb. I just run away until it runs out and come back and gank you harder. My build allows for that easily. Plus I will probably farm you a lot before you can build a BKB.
Backdooring is pushing towers with no creeps around - this is really hard to do because towers have 'backdoor protection' when no creeps are near. Basically they get a ♥♥♥♥ ton of regen.
Plus if I rush skullbasher no one is teleporting out unless they have ghost scepter. Even then better hope I don't have much magic on my team or I will simply have them come with.
