I actually get worse the more i play
it's awesome. My solo mmr degrades the more i play. The more i learn, the worse i get.

If you are getting frustrated then take abreak, come back in around a week and you might feel better, play better and enjoy the game more.

Having the same problem. I am literally in a match right as we speak, I think the ancient just got destroyed. That was the 6th game in a row.

its not you, its the 70% of players in the lower mmr pools that feeds, rages, picks heroes they dont know, dont know even the basics, buys totally wrong items, have no map awareness etc. totally unbalanced teams often skill wise

Just be cautious of your own morale, and play only when it is high.

And you belong with those players along as you can't exploit the morons on the enemy team more than they exploit the morons on your team. Moreover you will never improve as long as you blame your teammates for your mmr.

I'm there right now. I increased 600 MMR without a great struggle over the course of 50 games or so. 50 additional games later, I'm only at 200 above what I started despite understanding a LOT more about the game.

They say, "if you're good, you're MMR will increase, so you can only blame yourself." It's true. Over the LONG run, I have no doubt that my MMR will increase. But in the short term, it is very frustrating to consistently be on teams made of boneheads.

For a while I was playing support only. This worked OK, but I got frustrated with awful carries who just fed or didn't know how to init. So I started playing carry. Guess what? Now I have to deal with awful supports who don't ward properly, won't protect you as you farm, and/or feed.

Regardless, in the ~2k tier where I'm at, playing carry seems to be wiser than playing support. The carry role is, quite simply, more important than the support role in the lower tiers.

Many people know how to play and many skills.

They just dont use what they've learnt in games.

Check on your last 5 matches and try to find mistakes, then find a way to stop/reduce the amount of mistakes.
yeah I played in a party with 3k mmr people and they said I was probably mvp, but my solo MMR is 1300 and it hovers around that because of random people losing the game for me and my team. The game also tries to keep your win/loss ratio at 50/50 so it is very difficult to go up in MMR when the matchmaking is deliberately designed to make you lose a certain amount of the time.

Nah you get like 2 games where you can steamroll the enemy in 20 minutes, then you get into 5 games where you have1-2 stoneage internet players, one feeder or one/two clueless player. You know it as well as I do, I dont blame my teammates, im just stating a fact. You sound like you take this game waaay to serious btw, you should take a break.

And every now and then you get into a good even game that last 50-70 minutes, but it happens rarely

There have been way to many examples of a high mmr player playing on a low mmr account and winning virtually every game for you reply to be taken as anything more than a poor excuse .

The funny thing is that you blame afk's, trolls, lagging people etc for your low mmr and yet the truth is as long as you are never guilty of this yourself then those sort of people should gain you mmr over time. The reason being is that your team only has 4 chances of such people being on it while the enemy team has 5.

errmm.... you can't win em'all, ever heard the saying people? do you really think losing that man is even a big deal? you guys let the long time a match takes to convolude your judgment. making you think its not normal to lost that many games.
actually, the more you play, the more the system tries to give you opponents of equal skill lvl, but if you learn nothing while you play, the opponents are just better than you. To sum it up, you don't worse, you stay the same, the oppoents get better (in theory)
