he's one of the most effective carries once you hit the late game.

get treads, mask of madness, and battlefury. farm the jungle and nuke creep waves until you have mkb, a bkb, and maybe a desolater. after that you should go moonshard, trade your mask for a satanic, and you're golden.

that's the basic build. it's pretty effective. basically just farm a ton. once you're relatively farmed make sure you chrono the enemies only.

Like what Finnegan said, you are a hard carry and therefore need massive farm to get anywhere.

I don't play void much, but treads and Mask of Madness and an optional Hand of Midas are key early-mid game items. I would prefer a Mjollnir over a Moon Shard because Mjollnir has the passive lightning ability.

If you are going against high armor targets, get a Desolator and possibly a Solar Crest to improve evasion and shred armor.

The thing about Faceless is that you want high attack speed to proc your Time Lock (and possible other passives) as much as possible.

^ i mentioned attack speed, but forgot to mention why.

when you get into that late game, if you attack fast enough you can keep someone stun-locked with your right click. also your other passive (backtrack) can't be countered without a shadow blade, so keep that in mind.

some heroes to look out for:

-tiny. he has lots of health and a passive that will keep you from killing him without TONS of items and luck.

-outworld devourer. he can banish someone in your chrono, and his ult hits you hard.

Witch doctor, timbersaw, disruptor, and gyro can make your chrono not as effective. that being said, come late game you can handle most of what they throw at you.

My standard build is

Treads, butterfly, battlefury, mjolnir, daedalus, mask of madness ( can be switched for satanic lategame )

Not in order, switch out daedalus for MKB if there are evasion heroes

dont get battle fury - you do not need that if u have maelstorm. and battle fury doesnt give you attack speed, which u need in ur chrono - the bashes does twice as much damge to heroes that are trapped in the chrono. So more attack speed is higher chance of bashes.

You farm fast enough with maelstorm alone.

I usually get - boots (see how my lane goes, if bad lane then power threads, good lane, then morbid mask then power threads) then mask of madness. then maelstorm - then look what the enemy team has, if they have alot of magic - then next item is BKB - after bkb (or otherwise) get critical. then either mkb or mjollnir. if u feel too squishy u might need to get heart. after the mjollnir or mkb. fill the rest up with high quality items.

So power threads -> mask of madness -> maelstorm -> critical -> mkb/heart -

Edit: You usually want to avoid fights until u have power threads/mask of madness and maelstorm. once u got it, fight once ur ultimate is online. after that just farm or push. But farming is high priority. and u can clear creeps fast.

I like battlefury for the nice regen, fast farm, and multiple hero kiils in a Chrono

The item build depends on the situation or enemy heroes. To farm early game, you may need to have Midas but if you got early kills and early EZ gold, go build Battlefury.

BKB is a situation item like countering enemy supports.
MKB is also one of the situation item for PA, WR, and etc.
Desolator & Mjolnir for gank and pushing.
Satanic and (Heart of Tarrasque or Butterfly) if I wanted to last in team clash. (if you prefer killing than pushing)

Basically, it will still depends on the situation. LOL

Faceless Void is a freaking late game hero. Chrono is like an AOE silence and stun for a small time.

Note: Pray for "Backtrack" to always activate on enemy attacks like Laguna Blade, Finger and Dagons. (*evil laugh)

you dont really need the regen, because u will only fight if u have ur ulti is ready in the early game- after the ulti you go back to farming, mid-late game battlefury isnt that useful and will probaly be replaced - u fast farm with maelstorm - and kill multiple heroes coz of the lightning. battlefury is such a waste of money on the hero. it will only give damage and cleave (dmg isnt needed because he is building dmg items anyway, so cleave will be falling off too).

same here. mjolnir only adds damage and speed, while hitting mutliple enemies sometimes. battlefury gives you nice regen, nice damage, while also giving you the ability to always hit mutliple heroes. it's mostly a farming item, though, and it's better at that than mjolnir.
thornelemental Sep 2, 2015 @ 6:29pm
make it simple by stacking attack speed early game then bkb if up against stuns nukes; late game would be the damage items. carry tp all the time to avoid ganks and to counter gank if your ulti is up. DO NOT just farm contribute with your ulti all game long. A lot of people will flame you if you messed up your ulti dont mind them and just keep on throwing them out you'll get the timing sooner or later but if you were bothered you'll hesitate which is worse.

Thoughts on Aghanim's Scepter on him?

If you have the farm, it is worth it. That would also pair well with a refresher orb. 12 full seconds of timestopping fun!

Oh, that sounds diabolical.
Also, for the moonshards, should you consume them or not?

Consume if you want to replace it with something benficial and you have a ton of cash to burn.
An assault curass might be better in some situations where you need armor and a mild attack speed buff.

Thanks! I've been interested in learning how to carry, because so far I've only really been playing supports. Do you have any general advice beyond the "last-hit/stay safe/let your support take care of you" kind of thing?
