-missclicking the minimap
-the current path they were taking is blocked
-all paths to the point are blocked
-missclicking toward the enemy
-you use force attack making them turn to attack something within range
Those are the most likely methinks. I've also rarely had my hero get stuck on a tree, despite there being a clear path.
I hear you, but I notice it when telling my character to go in a direction not near the mini-map (say up-left and down-right), I can see a path, and my mouse never goes anywhere but one spot.
My best guess is that somewhere a creep passes in front of my pathing and my character reverses. But just not on my screen.
