Teamfight-y items
Hi everyone!
Sometimes I have several thousand gold and no real idea what to buy. I typically play pos 3, 4, or 5, so I want to get items that boost my teamfight presence.
So far, I've got:

Proper teamfight items
  • Mekansm
  • Pipe of Insight
  • Assault Curaiss
  • Shiva's Guard
  • Guardian Greaves
  • Drum of Endurance
  • Arcane Boots
  • Radiance
  • Vladimir's Offering
  • Crimson Guard
  • Black King Bar
  • Force Staff
  • Blink Dagger
  • Veil of Disco[rd]

Situational teamfight items
  • Lotus Orb
  • Linken's Sphere
  • Eul's Scepter of Divinity
  • Sycthe of Vyse
  • Rod of Atos
  • Silver Edge
What other good ones are there?

I've remembered Radiance, but I still feel like I'm missing some...
arcane boots?
vlads?

Obviously depends on what hero, enemies and game you have, but some other notable ones:

-Vlads
-Crimson guard
-Lotus orb/Linkins
-Veil

I'd also consider items like Eul's, Atos, and sheep stick to be teamfight items, but IDK if this is what you mean.

Ah, thanks for that!
Just realized I forgot BKB too, heh. Earlier I was thinking of Vlad's.

I think of Atos, Eul's, and Sheepstick as more "ganking/pickoff" items, but dropping them on their carry in a teamfight is very powerful, so I'll add them!

Yeah that's why I noted them separately. It's worth keeping in mind though. If you're getting destroyed by a CM/WD ult or you have fast hands against any initiator then Eul's/hex is a great team fight item. This line of thinking leads you to pretty much any item in the end though, I've bought SE before on Lina purely to deal with a huskar and bristle back in fights rather than gank. So I can see that they're situational team fight items unlike an item like mek or crimson.

SE?

Also, how about Necronomicon?

Silver edge, sorry. Nah I don't really consider it team fight. It's split pushing and map control (with the vision). It's your list though, so you do what you want :).

We did forget force staff though! Huge team fight item.

Hahaha, of course! Force staff is incredible on techies or dark seer.

Silver edge? I typically think of it as an iniation and anti-carry item, but against nasty carries with absurd passives (looking at you Void and PA), it can really start a teamfight off right.
I'll add silver edge and force staff, and you're right about Necronomicon.

That's what I mean though about the line of thinking part. I've bought SE before purely for the debuff. I was popping it in the middle of the fight with no intent of using the invisibility portion of it. Like I said before, it'd be fine to leave it off the list though, because this line of thinking leads you to almost any item. Losing team fights because of Omni? Diffusal is a team fight item.

Slightly off topic, but the silver edge discussion just made me think, come on valve you need to buff shadow demon. His ult only having break with agh's is ridiculous when an item like SE exists in the game.

I think I'll break it into "core teamfight items" (mek, crimson guard, etc.) and "situational teamfight items" (sheepstick, SE, etc.)

There are only three break abilities in the game--Shadow Demon's ult with aghs, Doom with aghs, and SE. I agree that Shadow Demon's ult should break by itself--3 charges is incredibly good already.

Also, Void really does need a buff. Of the three ultra-carries (him, Medusa, and Spectre), he has the hardest time killing people. If Chrono applied break, I bet it'd go a long way to make him viable again.

I'm not sure about this, it was too strong back when this was the case. It meant that void could be played with no items against certain line ups. I think the meta just doesn't fit cores like Void, sniper, troll who take a long time to come on line, don't flash farm and with items are just good fighters. Meta seems to revolve more around carries who have several power peaks (ember, gyro, DOOM, Alch, Slardar) at different timings. Or if you have a hard carry it needs to be something like spectre who just dominates team fights with brute force and isn't dependant on landing a good spell.

tangoes, if you buy 8 of them, you can supply your teammates with an extra 8.0 hp reg and destroy up to 6 trees, making jukes and more vision over your enemies

They already massively nerfed Chrono's mana cost. Even if they returned break, as long as they keep the mana nerf he should be balanced.
It's not just the meta, though--Spectre and Medusa don't really fit the meta, but they are still amazing ultra-carries.
