Well, nothing really makes it more valuable.

The only difference is that a Corrupted item will have a Foulfell shard in it. It's merely a gem that counts how many Demon kills you made.

Demons are heroes like, Lion, SF,ShadowDemon, and a few others.

By the looks, there's absolutely no difference.

Yea, it also changes the colour of the text to red, if that appeals to you.

Corrupted items are not a lot more valuable than inscribed or regular items, just like 1$ more cause of the Foulfell Shard. However there are lots of scams involving corrupted/autographed items, that's why you can see lots of insanely high listings for corrupted items on the Community Market:

http://steamcommunity.com/market/search?q=&category_570_Quality%5B%5D=tag_corrupted&appid=570#p1_price_desc

Typically it's a scam between 2 CS:GO players, where one tries to convince the other, that the Dota 2 item he is trading for is worth like 100$ or more, when it's only worth 1-2$. The Dota 2 trading forum used to be littered with threads about this:

Basically, someone gets two items and two corrupted (foulfell shards) gems. This is because there aren't a lot of corrupted variants of items on the market. They take some crappy item, slap a corrupted gem in it, then put it on the market for hundreds of dollars.

Then they take their other copy of the corrupted item and say, "Look at it on the market! It's worth hundreds of dollars!" and try to get some schmuck to fall for it and trade them something that actually is worth hundreds of dollars. Usually they'll "lowball" themselves, i.e. want to trade something that you have that isn't worth as much as their fake item so you think you'll automatically make a profit. They'll say because they're not playing Dota anymore and as always the hallmark of any scammer, the trade has to be done fast because they've got lots and lots of offers but they're making a special exception for you.

If someone has offered you one of these fabulous deals, don't fall for it. Tell them to go stick their head in a pile of :poop: and leave it there until they run out of oxygen.

It's a scam. They put a worthless gem into a cheap item and charge insane prices for them. Since noone else makes these items (Everyone who plays Dota and are into items knows that corrupted items only tracks a worthless stat, that noone wants in their items), they can create a fake market for it. They put out corrupted items at insane prices as there are no other items like these on the market, as no player would make them, as they are worthless (But if your not into Dota 2, you do not know this thus they are using your ignorance against you)...the listings on the market are all just scammers creating an atmosphere that makes you think they are worth it. But it is wortless and a scam. Noone who plays Dota will buy those items, and so you are stuck with it if you buy it.

yup, completely correct. its just for scamming. another method is that this guy says that he needs that item desperately and would trade u another expensive item if u can get it. when you're done getting that item by paying a high price to the account he linked, you'll be left with worthless junk. im entertaining a scammer as i write, hope he loses his ♥♥♥♥ when he finds out im fcking with him :helmet:

You can install Dota 2, get a hammer, remove the foulfell shard and sell it for 1-2 bucks on Steam Market. The base item is probably worth like 3-5 cents. No one is gonna want to buy it with the shard in it.
