Dota 2
How to get out of smurf pool?
Old player returning to continue playing dota after deleting my old account that had 2.5k hours and a rank of Archon 3. I Upon setting up this account, I specifically chose the "I played Dota" with the hopes that I will not be perceived as a smurf or acc buyer. I went off to grind the 100 hour requirement to play ranked and continued to play more unranked with friends as I grew impatient. But when I try to queue ranked, the queue takes forever. Going beyond an hour of waiting both solo and with friends. Is there any way I can get out of the shadow pool? I have over 11k behaviour score and currently 200+ hours in.

How would you honestly explain your duplicated name there?

NICE topic. Once I stopped playing Dota for 2-4 years. Was playing WarThunder.
When I CAME back, the map had changed and the game was totally different. I Lost a lot of mmr, to a point that I didn't care...I just went competitive because unranked was very noobish.

I'm from the time that 3k was insaaaaane, 3.5 was GOD. My max was 27ish, but everygame was intense (map was smaller, no sidecamps). That format was very fast pace. Insane.
But now with bigger map, the game becomes more complex. Alot. That changed dota 4ever.

But anyway, you're a probally tagged by the talking above....at least you didn't said that your computer was hacked.
Mine is and if someone installed a hack....well.
I just don't open it XD

The simple answer is: You just have to play until the system is confident that you are where you should be, it's not a specific number of games or time.

it does not work coz in every game you have smurfs or bots.

Your name truly reflecting your account was breaking the rules of Steam. How can it be possible for you to escape from the Smurfs pool? That deserve for you.

wait wait wait for a second.
the smurf pool is for smurfs, right? it's in the name, right?
but the guy had a bad nickname that is against steam rules, so his nickname was changed by steam, and perhaps he got a warning about it, so that's the crime and the punishment that steam has in place for such individuals. but what does it have to do with the smurf pool again? how is that a right punishment to thrown someone with a bad nickname into the smurf pool?
you do realize, that smurf pool is not a punishment for everyone whom you don't like or disagree with, right? I don't know who you are, but your reasoning in this case is very flawed.
If you think that someone is a bad person and you don't like their nickname, it doesn't mean that they deserve a punishment that is meant for a completely different offense. change my mind.

I dont understand what you are getting into here. I have not broken any rules regarding steam so far nor my name. I never received a warning thus far nor any information in regards of my name. I suggested from my post that I am put in the smurf pool unfairly.

This just shows The State of The game and How little The developers Care when smurfs Can troll The Forums without developers doing anything

So, when / if you are detected as a smurf, you'll get 1h time to get a match?
edit: Why not simply banned?
Also, some ppl talk about shadow ban (shadow ban pool), why not banned ?
Isn't that easier and funnier, to let people play 100h and then, ask them for a telephon number, and 5$ expense so they can say something, and then ban them? :-p

It seems to be the only logical answer tbh. I seem to be unable to play solo ranked to grind but I can still play unranked. I presume this is the result of me playing with friends to pass the time while grinding hours so that I can play ranked and the game detected that I am playing with people well above 500+ games. I suppose I can just brute force my way out of smurf pool by solo queueing unranked until I can play ranked with a normal queue time.
