Drafting is the middleground that works.
Yes, might have been in the past, but now it seems pretty random if you get a team of 6 support or a game with 8 core players and search time is like 1-3 min (Europe), they should just display the search time and let people decide themself if it is worth the wait. I'll rather wait 20 min for a game where everyone is the role they want than a game where somebody is forced into a role they either don't want to play or perhaps isn't able to play well at all. Like, how does it make sense that I have gotten my rank by "only" (for the most part) playing support and then in Immortal Draft sometimes I must play another role which I am obviously crap at since I haven't practised it. And when I am terrible I get reported. Then if I try to practise it in unranked I even get reported there as well. I cannot smurf so... I am left with accepting bullcrap, getting reports for trying my best or quiting the game. I know this post is old, but I just needed to vent about the bullcrap.
this system is the solution to bring the few people together, otherwise the queue for a singele game would take hours.
