dota 2 skin mods, legit?
Hello there!

I just have a quick question about downloading skin mods.
Is it bannable or just fine? Since only yourself can see it and it doesn't give you any advantages (or disadvantages). :tgrin:

yes, they are legit. However if ANY mod file edits any of your .dll (extension) files then don't install them, as messing around with game .dll files can, and will almost every time provide you with a free and permanent purchase of a vacban.

Ok, so if I download the "Wings of Searing Pain" to QoP which is only accessible through Garena dota if I'm not wrong through "legit" ways. Is that still not breaking the rules? Long as I don't get any game advantages or change the .dll files.

no idea what the hell that skin is but a skin is a skin, it won't give you a vacban unless it messes with important game files.

Ok, thank you for the clarification. Would be nice with an official post or respond from Valve. But I doubt they even read this forum.

lol they don't read this, they have a total of 12 or more mods taking care of the ENTIRE game forums.

If you want to get them to reply then just report me and ask them to give you a reply regarding this matter....


Or you could make a steam support ticket, but if you posted here I think that you don't even want to make a steam ticket (like everyone should when asking THIS kind of questions).

Nah, I'm not in a dire need to have mods installed. It was just a fun thing I wanted to try our to see different skins in effect. But when a single mistake can get you banned and when there's a lot of phishing downloads about mod installment, it's just not worth the time and effort.
