Dota 2
UNRANKED: Should brand new players play with people who have THOUSANDS of hours?
Whats your take?

Should brand new players play with players who have thousands of hours (and skill to match)? Or should they play with other new players and maybe everyone has to wait a bit longer for a nice match to be made?

It should be an option, But as a newer player, You should guild with mates or make friends on discord, find people close to your server block. Dota is too old and at this stage, new players are all just smurf accounts, All the "New" people I meet with 2 wins have amazing game sense and ability, when not standing in a corner. New is subjective, so even a 0 win could be a slark smurf farming another account to sell.

So in short, Yeah. You want more stability, Id use the tools provided or prep those cheeks for a massive clapping.

A persons gaming hours has nothing to do with in game metrics. Matchmaking in games has never and will not ever take into consideration, ones gaming hours.

The counter that displays time spent on game does not equate to where one should stand Vs newbies or whatever.

There are low herald players with THOUSANDS of games, and there are quite a few of them in this forum whining about getting put with new players. It's kind of a joke reading it after one checks their dotabuff. If you got 50+ games you should be put with them for sure. There are players who just cant get any better and are as good as fresh players in many ways.

Besides new accounts have different account flags and will generally get put with other fresh account for the first few games, you can't keep these accounts in the same pool for a long time either.

solo queue problems.. why the heck would they spare any time or resources to help the demographic that was never the intended way to play the game?

5 stacking is the intended way, you don't see pro players doing internationals in solo queue.

any form of serious competitive environment cannot exist in solo queue when your team is randomized every single time.

in my opinion they should abolish solo rank and bring back party mmr.
No, it's not fun for anyone

If you don‘t like the public mm criteria, take mm in your own hands. Right now, players seem to favor convenience over quality.
