dota 2 and LoL are both remakes of the DOTA mod for Warcraft 3.

LoL has a mor egregious business model and a few things that give you an advantage ingame that are bought/ earned outside of the main game including heroes. It also has quite a few gameplay mechanics differing from dota and dota 2. Stealth grass, respawning barracks, no denying, different hero roles, alot more aimed spells and less unit target and passives. to name a few.
Just thought I'd take a moment to correct some misconceptions from one of your previous posts:

Im not sure about Dota, being in the the LoL camp, which is also F2P, but i've spend like 100bucks on the damn game, cause they want money for everything and im sure the "free" dota is similar. This game is actually pretty similar to MOBA.. well in a way, you have to learn the heroes to compete and play at a rewarding level. A 2hr opinion makes as much sense as some scrub feeding the opposite team, and then making a review. Im sure as a fellow MOBA player you saw those people too.

Since you're a LoL player then you know that, if you want to unlock all content in LoL, champions and runes (which give in-game advantages which you can pay to unlock quicker) can cost you hundreds of dollars and up or you can grind for thousands of hours.

In Dota, to unlock all the heroes in the game, just install and run the game. That's it. They're all unlocked. There are no runes to grind or buy boosters for. The only discriminator is skill and experience. Cosmetics offer no advantages and you can get rare items and sets for free just by playing, and not once in a blue moon. I've gotten more than my fair share of mythical set drops.

Not only that but the Dota esports community is very well established. While Dota may not have the numbers that Riot claims LoL has, in the 2015 International, Dota's 5th and 6th place teams made more (over a million) than LoL's 1st place team.

As a sidenote, Riot claimed in 2013 that their peak concurrent player count was around 500,000. Now they claim it's nearly 8 million with an active player base of 30 million. Personally, I think they're fudging their numbers a bit.

Regardless, Valve has put their money where their mouth is in supported the Dota professional community.
Well, DotA in Warcraft came to the e-gaming scene at around year 2002/2003.
LoL came on 2009.
DotA 2 was being developed during 2009 and released in the succeeding year.
So who copied who?
If you're dumb or blind then I can understand if you can't see the correlation here.

I beleive dota and riot fudge the numbers, certainly they both dont account for people having multiple accounts.

LoL is a clone of DotA, but more casual.
yah man, dota is a straight up copy/paste of legendary league of extra-ordinary gentletits. there's a corki, and a spinning man who must be garen, they even took baron NASHOR and called him ROSHAN, and all sorts of other ♥♥♥♥. they took all the skill hits out of the spells so it isn't even as skilled a game... it's sad that valve has fallen this far, there aren't even any weekly hero rotations, total cash grab imo.

I'm not serious, I do not believe this.
the amount of bait in this thread is through the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ roof
If you like Dota, play Dota. If you like LoL, play LoL. If you wanna try Dota, try Dota. If you wanna try LoL, try LoL. LoL sucks because it's easy and you have to pay for everything or grind thousands of mind-numbing hours for it. Dota sucks because it's too hard.

soo dota2 copied dota1 which copied LoL? Wow thats pretty complex.
Dota 2 is almost carbon copy of Dota 1( warcraft 3 mod) the first real "moba" ever made (in 2003: alpha version, that version is based on a starcraft 1 custom map, but its not rly moba yet.In 2004-2005 the WC3 mod (dota 1) became more finished state and popular and the moba we know today)
LoL is copy/clone of the genre (moba) and its different a bit from dota1/2

just ride of the success of its name, dota 2 is fan made with only 1 or 2 of the original devs (both of which have left now i beleive). Both games are spirtual successors in their own right, thats all there is to it.
