Why is there no real good attack speed item?

No not just moon shard. Like an item that truly focuses on increasing your attack speed. Mjollnir and madness is the closest you get and both are meh.

What hero?

If really low base attack time, echo sabre, not attack speed per se, but it's more efficient that attack speed in that case.

Otherwise, SB and MKB give more attack speed than they used to.

Why not moonshard if you want pure attack speed? Because it is the dedicated item. It is the only item that provides almost exclusively attack speed.

I think its also bcos of balance reasons. Attack speed raises the overall dps more than buying damage items sometimes. Probably also one of the reasons on why there is an attack speed limit in the first place

Moonshard is an attack item. You can eat one and carry several. That's more then enough to reach max speed for most chars.

It depends on when you want attack speed. What do you think would be a solution to the problem you try to adress? For early game it's Midas, Powertreads and wrathbands that get you asp and maybe a mask of madness aswell. I mean how fast you want to hit? for example you could also slow down other heroes asp if you want to outpace them (with skadi, or Solar crest for example) Your question is kinda weird, and not really defined. It's as if I'd say There is no real Item that is all about Status resistance(which is partially true, but the closest to it would be aeon disc or Satanic). or There is no real Item that is all about Stun.

Besides that Echo sabre is usually the choice of item on Str Heroes if you want to proc attack modifiers.

Wraith Bands are a decent source of early attack speed and stats if you can farm quickly, +6 Agility and +5 Attack Speed = 11 Attack Speed per Wraith Band.

On int heroes as well, I've seen Lina buying two wraithbands as well! It was awful.

This is why people shouldn't listen to random advice from people that don't really play dota. STR and INT heroes are buying WB not just for the Attack Speed, but because it also now gives 2.4 armor overall with the base armor + agi. The fact you think a STR or INT hero can't buy WB shows you aren't very high skill. Crusader or lower medal right?
