but a good shaman will break it wiht his other spells before shakling you.
Aeon Disk will also be a good item ( long cooldown tho)
Lotus with timing can work. ( wouldnt recomend it.)
Persoanly I would DO Glimmer as a support player and not rush linkens.
if you are core Linkesn might be ok.
BKB and timing is way better tho.
and most important. Position is the key here. if he shakles you. someone near you should be able to stop him
If you are far away from others. dont show yourself on map. they willl gank you.
Rest depends on character and or role in the game. You can delay him, by euls yourself, forcestaff away, blink away. black king bar.
Btw linkens is a terrible item to buy against a shadow shaman. PLEASE AVOID IT.
This item is a very special exception for high power characters who 1 v 1 gank people. Such as legion commander, storm spirit, outworld destroyer and have big follow up damage on their own without their team.
I think i will try the black king bar for my go to counter as i learn the other items.
basically what was happening is the shaman would just walk up to me, shackle me, and one or more people would come out of the fog and gank me. lol. If i can break it until the coast is clear, sounds good to me.
As ":D" said, Linken's Sphere, Black King Bar, Lotus Orb or Aeon Disk can directly counter one or more spells Shaman can throw at you (with linken and BKB being mostly items built by cores, while Lotus Orb and Aeon Disk are usually bought by supports). Glimmer cape also kind of counters it but in a different way - it doesn't prevent the spell from disabling you, but it provides invisibility (other enemies can't target you without detection while you are stunned) and also gives you 300 magic damage barrier, preventing the damage shackles deal to you as a spell.
One more thing to keep in mind is cast range of shackles - it is not that big by itself. Shaman has a relatively short attack range (400 or 450 i think) and cast range of shackles is similar to that range. For comparison, towers have attack range of 700, melee heroes have attack range of about 150 - 200. This means that until Shaman gets Aether Lens and Aghanim's Shard, he needs to get really close to you to shackle you - which means staying around your team makes him an easy target (since he also can't move for the duration of shackles, as they are a channeled spell).
in general - if you get caught alone by shaman and one of his teammates, there isn't usually much you can do (that is shaman's whole thing). But if you have your own teammates around, someone usually has some Area of Effect stun, silence or something to break those shackles and get you back into fight.
regarding the first question (skills during shackles) - certain skills have a special property where they can be used while disabled. Ursa's Enrage and Troll Warlords Battle Trance (with the level 25 talent i think) are examples of such skills. It is true that skills like this are not common, so the confusion is understandable.
as for the targetting of Dark Willow with Shadow Realm - unless the interaction happened right as Dark Willow activated her Shadow Realm (in which case this could be attributed to cast time of Shadow Realm), then it was most likely a bug or some sort of cheat. Shadow Realm should render DW completely untargettable, so only AoE skills should be affecting her (and neither Shackles nor Duel are AoE skills)
