Unable to create event, error 24

Game starts up and runs fine, search a new game... hit ready up --> game instantly crashes with a "unable to create event, error 24" pop up.

Edit: Now it's giving the same pop up on game start up during intro randomly... was able to play a few games but get the crash as soon as the games over lol. Twice it's done it before the game client even starts... multiple times during intro as well.. I'm on a 2023 Mac M2 / Sonoma 14 - hopefully with a bazillion bumps they'll get it resolved.. very frustrating.. So much for a little dota on my 4 day weekend...

if i press reopen again it says that "it doesnt find the files" or files not found

SOLUTION:
Start game normal. Start a bot game, it crashes. Press reopen window on mac. client starts, press start bot game again. It crashes. Restart client again. wait for the client to fully load before pressing start. Start bot game once you are inside a bot game and chosen hero quit bot game press find all pick. gg save ur weekend.

Im on my fourth game, no problem. Just try this method.
After every game you need to do it again. close client. restart. crash restart etc..

There is a workaround described in another thread: Manually start the dota2 game file from Fnder. On my mac this file is here: /Users/<User>/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/dota 2 beta/game/bin/osx64/dota2.app

If you go there with the Finder and you click the Dota2 app the game should start without error 24 message. Steam launch is yet not fixed - at least for me.
