Dota 2
Low priority Single Draft waiting time
Hey Devs, whoevs,
Waiting times are wayyyy too long for anyone with obligations to wait.
I got to win 2 single draft games due to being placed in low priority pool because I had to go AFK during a game to meet with the delivery guy. He had a hard time finding my package so it took a while and when I got back I moved my hero but did not get XP in time to refresh the AFK timer and I was greeted with the "...abandoned the game..." message. Even though my team won the game, they were aware of me being AFK and acted accordingly I still get punished for nothing.
Now I am sitting in low priority queue for 20 minutes waiting for a single draft game. I have a little baby and I play Dota while he sleeps. If it takes me 30 minutes to find a game, it cannot end before my baby wakes up and thus I have to go AFK again (bcuz baby > doto) and here I am, stuck in a circle of long queue times and necessity to go AFK to tend to my child.
I've been playing this game since it was released, I played Dota back in Warcraft III Frozen Throne and I'm all grown up with obligations (like baby) and lack free time to play Dota. Having to spend most of my free time in a queue, simply because "those are the rules, behavior score, bla bla" seems like a deal breaker for me.
I'll try to win 2 games to exit low priority, but if I go AFK again and get more games to play, you can consider me gone from this game for good (a sad ending to a long career).

I'm guessing most people playing Dota 2 for such a long time have all grown up and might find themselves in a similar situation. Devs should think about things like this and find a way to circumvent this punishment. For example, if player cannot leave low priority after a month or two he is removed from low priority anyways (given that he has less than x games to play, x being some low number like 2,3,4).

Hope this gets fixed,
Cheers.

don't even bother typing this type of stuff. lots of wrong with the game, but they wont fix it. sometimes you just have to swallow that bitter ass pill and suck it up.

You don't get LPQ from just one abandon, so clearly it's not your first time.

But the wait time is long because not many people end up being punished (and that's good). It really has nothing to do with DotA or Valve.
