Same. Since dragon update. I mainly do single player offline (extremely casual gamer) and the game returns to the start screen every time I try to start a battle. Same thing happens in CSGO. So now I can only play the legacy (CSGO) edition.

After 10+ years and 10K hours in this game, I sadly have to agree... I've had to contact Steam Support twice about my crash which affected my Behavior Score. They legit don't know the issue and how to fix it. On top of that now, I've noticed even the main menu lagging even harder...

Steam support solutions are as follows:
1. Send screenshots (They won't entertain the ticket in the LEAST, unless there are screenshots...)
2. Play at a lower resolution.
3. Re-install video card drivers.
4. Check the 'Troubleshooting IP provider issues.' forum. (This, despite saying that it is happening offline and disconnected as well).
5. Check steams' MANY forums on people who've had similar issues and got them resolved to try to find a possible solution...(Dragon update rollback perhaps?).

Conclusion? Figure it out yourself...

Also, funny enough, since dragon update...CSGO ALSO has the same issue (legacy version runs fine).

So I think I'm going to leave DOTA and CSGO for the time being and check in at the end of the month. Who knows? *shrug*

Ok...not sure if it's an AMD issue, Windows 11 issue, Valve issue, or DOTA2 issue. The ONLY thing that is working for me (thus far) is to find DOTA2.exe (browse local files, game/bin/win64/dota2.exe. Click on compatibility and Run this program in compatibility mode for: (I chose windows 7, shouldn't matter really). Click Apply and then the game 'should' work (still seems a bit buggy, but it sorts itself out after leaving it for a bit). When you are finished with the game. Repeat the steps above to 'Compatibility' and de-select 'Compatibility mode'. Click apply (important or else the game bug that defaults you to the start screen will activate). Repeat the SAME steps (browse local files) above to get the game running again. Rinse and repeat EVERY TIME you want to run DOTA2. MUST be run from dota2.exe

Let me know if this works for you guys. Cheers!

FIXED!!! After Windows Update or DOTA2 update (they kinda coincided with each other, but that's besides the point) !t Only took half a year to be resolved!
