They always build their Assault Cuirasses and Deadalusi... Which provide no strength at all.
Power Threads provide humble 10, and you are trading a very usefull speed / pursuit utility of phases for it, which is a risky trade.
BKB provides 10, you're definitely making that at some point... But what else?
Satanic, i guess? No one ever makes Sange or H.o.Tarasque. Uh... That strength dagger thing?
I don't know. I guess you could try making it work by going Sabre and then buying ALL of the items that use Reaver as a base, but that's assuming:
A) You can survive / farm for that long;
B) People won't start flaming you by going off-meta on Pos1.
Not something i care about in unranked, i'll happily try it at some point, but so far my experimentations got me nowhere - i have like 3 loses with that perk and i just fail to notice a positive change, all i notice is that last hitting in early laning stage f*cking sucks and then 12-18 levels play EXACTLY the same a normal Sven. Its so weird.
I'll try making Mordigan next time, for sh*ts and giggles, see if that does something. Works without ult too.
Your starting attack is 63 vs 48 (38+10) at level 1. Every level, your attack increase by 3.2 with Heavy Plate, verse 4.4 per level with WoG (3.2 * 1.4 all the way til lv6). Long story short, you break even at around lv9 without any items.

(this table didn't account for the +2 attribute at 7 levels)
Without items, your final attack is 155 with Heavy Plate and 236 (144+92) with WoG.
Even at lv1, 2 bracers are going to be bring your attack to 68 (48+20). which is about where you start. Overall, you might have a disadvantage for the first 5 level, but should be able to catch up soon enough.
If you don't build a lot of items for strength - here is your incentive to do this.
Sange and yasha, power blink, satanik, power threads, bkb, aghanim. Every item gives you strenght.
