Is experience gained from Roshan split among teammates?
In one of my recent games, I asked my teammates right away to go instantly for Roshan (after seeing that Youtube video, which got the whole team to lv 5). We killed it after all (although 2 people died, maybe that was the cause?), but we only reached level 3. I thought they just patched it up so instant Rosh wouldn't worth it.

You see, I've been browsing the wiki a LOT today, and I found this article:
http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Neutral_Creeps#Roshan
In this, all gains from creeps are explained, with Rosh among them. For Roshan, it says "1789 experience".

Then I found this table:
http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Experience#Leveling
As you see, the "Total experience needed for level 5" is 1400, and for lv 6 it's 2000, so 1789 would get me right to level 5.

But let's take a look at THIS:
If we divide 1789 by 5, it gives 357,8 (so, circa 360), which gets me... RIGHT to level 3, where we got after defeating it.

So what is the case here? Did the 2 deaths affect it, maybe? Or was it just bugged and we should've received 1789/player? Or did they just make so that even Ancient and Roshan exp is divided in the new patch?

Please answer this question, as if I could get to level 5 with this instantly, that would be great. I mean, level 3 is not that bad either, but it costs WAY too much money to heal, and WAY too much time to get to the top lane, compared to what Rosh gave us.

Any help is appreciated!

yes its diveded among those who are next to rosh during the last hit. If a team harras rosh, leave only one last hit and go away, so carry can lasthit it. The carry will get it all. See this game

Oh and yes, leaving the carry to get it is a good idea. Is the area for EXP gain the lair itself?

yep.

Thats why level 1 roshan exsists. if the carry manages to be alone in the pit when it dies ... boom! level 3-4 before the game starts :D

Okay, after re-watching the video I linked I see that they only left QoP in the lair. Yep, so only 1 hero can gain level 5 from it. After all, this is not a so, SO good "strategy", then. Guess I'd better go and put 200-300 more hours in the game then I can have 5 level advantage without Roshing :D

Thanks for the answers!

Lol. Here is a video of pick to stomp a pub :) It's in russian but you dont need to know language.

The key is the pick. To be more precise they leveled up passives of 4 heroes on first level.

The area isn't just the pit. It's the same range as normal xp range.
Doubt you'll be able to let the carry last hit rosh at level 1 though. By the time you're all out of range, the carry'll be long dead.
