Valve Anti-Cheat was not able to verify your machine is secure
So I just logged into Dota for the 1st time in like 3 months and I can't play cause I get this message. Anyone know how to fix this? I never had a VAC issue before and this is the 1st time I have seen this message appear

This means you either didn't install Steam and consequently Dota 2 as an admin, or your machine has security measures implemented on it that prevent Steam or Dota 2 from being fully installed. The game can open, but VAC is throwing you the error because it doesn't have permission to read certain files.

Having the same issue after switching to old PC after not playing months on it. Steam support not helpful at all. Tried everything I could find online to troubleshoot and nothing. Think its gotta be a patch issue since I'm seeing a lot more of these posts in the last week or so.

just play it no worries about it, or for your peace of mind restart steam. it sometimes happen.

Did not help. Even reinstalled Dota. What ended up helping was just not playing for months... I just launched the game and it works fine now. I can only assume it is a problem on Valve's side, not the user

lol if it came out just play. it does that sometime to me but I keep playing and nothing happen

restart you PC
verify integrity of your windows system files
verify integrity of your game files
launch dodo2 and see if the message is gone
