New account to play dota

Hey dudes. Quick question, haven't played dota for long time ago, recently came back and tried to play on my main account, but it's kinda difficult, since you don't remember ♥♥♥♥ and play way worse then people I am randomed with my mmr. I want to create new acc, to practise a bit and play dota. Will I get banned for it?

Don't listen to these people. You can play on as many accounts as you want and it's really easy to switch between them on the same system.

You can just play on your main too and it will level itself to a 50-50 win rate. Maybe play turbo to relearn faster.

I suggest you to read those old news where also is told about the 40k smurf accounts wave that Valve banned if you don't believe it..

Unfortunately, the game doesn't have any official regrinding options like seasonal resets. That's astonishing for a game that is so long around. Thus, even after 10 years or more you are bound to your historic account stats. If you restartet your old account on a new client machine you are doomed. Now Valve has your actual MAC Address and will play with your fear for a ban, which seems to be more arbitrary than Valve is communicating about.

So, if you don't have fun playing on your ancient account you can at least enjoy your new account up to the next ban wave and rinse repeat. A gamers life in short cycles. Sorry, but you'll never build a permanent bond with this game again. On the other hand, it also frees you from the chains of the game and makes you appreciate the free-to-play nature of the game even more. Your choice, struggling with the long term 50% win rate stats of your old account, or living as a precarious but free Dota2 gamer from now on.

Thing is there are countless people like you regurgitating "you will get banned if you have multiple accounts." I just don't see the posts of people saying they got banned for just having multiple accounts.


If your not a smurph then you won't get banned. And even if you did so what? Not everyone needs to play for cosmetics or whatever arbitrary thing you think your losing if you do.
