Disliking players is a free feature.
Avoid players if a paid feature.

which one do you think works?
get dota+ and spend some shards if you want to block players.

you can only avoid a certain number of players because if it worked for any and all players, you would end up banning all those AI bots that play in your rank just so you can get a game in a reasonable amount of time. the permanent mute that was introduced was designed to mask that simple fact because it helps their AI bots pass "the turing test".

so that's why you can't ban all those bots that throw games. its limited for a reason - so you can still lose 50% of the time.

Sad thing is you're paying for something that should be a basic feature in any game that respects its target audience.

I noticed some time ago that I‘m not the target audience. I still enjoy the game. But honestly, if the target audience are competitive gamers, there shouldn‘t be any avoid player function based on subjective individual judgement. Maybe only as payed service for unranked.

You should be able to avoid players who grief your games,it's a basic quality of life feature.
suffer them once? alright. queue and run into them again a few minutes later? something isn't optimized.

Best thing you can do is either buy Dota+, or avoid insta-queue right after a game ends.

Take 5 to 10 min breaks before queuing again helps you avoid players.

I agree with AerSilver: It should be a free feature.

there are a few issues

there are only 25 slots, getting more costs a lot very quickly, and for the most part there are so many players at all the ranks that avoiding only 25 makes no difference so it doesnt matter if its free or paid if its useless

if you are herald 1, you are so bad at the game that if you turn on your monitor, get 2 more cs, or buy 1 proper item, you will hit guardian in 2 days, so avoid list doesn't matter there

if you are immortal, that is the only place you can realistically utilize it because your pool goes from millions of players (100,000 active players at any moment) to thousands of players (500-8000 active players at any moment depending on region)
you are much more likely to find someone again, even if you wait 20 mins to queue (which you should do if you're not immortal and want to avoid someone without changing region) so that is the only bracket it can even be used in

You have an avoid list with 25 slots, you can list players post match

wait, how do you avoid players? i dont see this function and i have dota +
post game, there are 3 options above every player other than yourself
commend, dislike, report
if you click report, a window pops up and one of the options there is to avoid that player (ally or enemy, doesnt matter)

Avoid function from dota plus used to be free with Dota plus from overwolf until dota 2 devs made changes so you can't access it for free its locked behind paywall of dota plus subscription

Dota + avoid numbers is too small to be even useful
If avoid number can't reach a % of your available playerpool players then the avoid function is just meme illusion inb4 matchmaking que timer or consequences defenders its to filter out players like you

Griefing is in overwatch procedure. The problem is the exclusion of players by individual criteria. If he’s a dedicated griefer, so other players (in the opponent team) should suffer, while you don’t? That is a serious non-competitive rigging factor. I would accept it in unranked as payed service but not more. Or just drop the claim for competitive gaming. That would be the most honest way with all the convenience factors in mm and the focus on solo low ranked gaming.
