Actually maybe not.. he could end up crying and /wristing due to good ol' regular dota banter.
Two things:
1) James. We've had issues with James at previous events. Some Valve people lobbied to bring him back for Shanghai, feeling that he deserved another chance. That was a mistake. James is an ass, and we won't be working with him again.
2) As long as we're firing people, we are also firing the production company that we've been working with on the Shanghai Major. They will be replaced, and we hope to get this turned around before the main event.
As always, I can be reached at gaben@valvesoftware.com.

godspeed Gabe..... godspeed
im so glad that james is gone forever now, hes such an uncharismatic guy....
Valve was unprofessional and was, quite frankly, horribly in the wrong by firing James.
Have you even seen the recent panel? It's so bland and boring, nobody is saying anything, and everyone is uncomfortable all because they're afraid that putting a single toe out of line will get them fired without a warning.
I think james is funny and i understand his point of view but lets not be childish and ridiculous , you cant use the C word , talka bout wanking and be surprised you were sacked.
your just making up nosnense , there isnt even a panel being shown at the event since then so how can you say its bland when it doesnt even exist? lol . I don't think anyone is scared of being sacked as they arent silly enough to think its fine to talk about wanking to chinese disabled porn.
Many people like 2gd and the way Valve and Gabe handled this was completely wrong
Also redeye is an annoying caster, and I'm sick of hearing his crappy opinion and nasally voice
He was warned but he didn't listen. It was an unprofessional move to just remove him in the middle of the tournament, especially when they don't have a competent replacement who did the necessary prep work. It was a mistake by Valve to hire him in the first place when he did a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ job at TI4.
But at the end of the day it is Valve's tournament and they had to do something. KeyTV were terrible and their host was being insubordinate.
Valve takes most of the blame here but James isn't completely innocent either.
Also the 17 page google doc was a bit excessive when 1 page would've been enough. It looks like James is hell bent on looking like the victim.
As he explained he was defending his reputation
There actually was a panel at some points. I didn't watch the entire thing (cause of timezone difference and me sleeping through the middle part), but I saw the first series and the last just now. There was no panel at the start of Day 3, but there was a panel at the end. There's even an oddshot on the reddit frontpage: http://oddshot.tv/shot/dotamajor-20160227123521109
I don't really like the panels either, they seem awkward and forced most of the time. However there's so much downtime, you kinda need them to keep the audience engaged, as most casual viewers would just be driven away from a lack of content in between series.
Ward ♥♥♥♥♥ isn't a term outside of the game, while the former is. Just gotta watch what words you put together. Monkey for example can be an endearing insult but put porch before it and it becomes a slur.
Are you trying to say that events of the game shouldn't represent the game and it's community, but instead lure in gullible little children to get abused for hours?
Real life is filled with so much worse ♥♥♥♥. Doesn't mean we just take the bad and roll with it.
You must not know James very good then. This whole clip is more offensive than anything he's done/said at the Major. But this part in particular. https://youtu.be/IKkkEMem-tc?t=33
I know that James very well. That's just not the James that was in TI4 or any of the previous Valve hosted ones.
There are events where that ♥♥♥♥ is enocuraged. The Summit for example is a very casual tournament where players cast games and generally do and say whatever they want.
Even Tobi had his moments where he went completely off the rails, but not when he was casting on a big stage.
