Honestly the guess would be some SJW PR loser didn't like one of his jokes, and instead of giving him a warning to tone it down just fired him. But that is pure speculation on my part. Honestly he was the best thing about the entire show.

There is a "perception" in the Dota community that the Chinese Dota community doesn't take kindly to foreigners. They even direct massive amounts of hate towards their own players/teams when they lose to foreign teams and they run their Dota 2 teams like chain gangs.

Even if 2GD says it was Valve's decision, what it looks like to a lot of people was that Valve was pressured by Perfect World to fire him. I personally wouldn't be surprised if the only reason he was fired was for somehow hurting China's feelings with some inane remark and thereby insulting the national pride of the entire country of China by proxy, according to their logic.
