Yes, the extra damage and cooldown for the ultimate are nice, but remember, QoP doesn't have the best stat gain in the game, so better go for something to regen mana before Aghs, and Perseverance doesn't cut it, the mana regen is too low for what you need.
Blink on quick cast is mandatory. Also, just for the record, if a target is in your atk range, he is also in range for your Scream.
My common build (unless against a LC mid) is 2-1-4-1 at lvl 8, maxing Scream before taking Wave, or, depending on case, taking Wave when available. First lvl if you are mid is Shadow Strike, no real reason to take Blink lvl 1.
I just had one of the most horrible games though, basically offlane QoP (which I done before and worked) but vs 3 of the enemy team that kept ganking me. In the end I was so far behind (with less then 10 LH's at the 10min mark) that I just couldn't catch up and we ended up losing. Also because one of our team abandoned and nobody listened to calls to rotate for ganks (honestly everyone at this mmr thinks its a solo game). It was one of my worst qop matches by far that I done. How do you still make something useful out of those things? Just go jungle or something?
I guess with the abandon though and an overfarmed Spectre (again, nobody rotated) it wasn't going anywhere regardless. Still a sour taste of that match though, qop has been fun for me until that point. Just couldn't do anything at all.
Actually, yes, you stack the jungle a few times, your Scream doesn't care for the number of targets in the AoE as long as they are in the radius, they will be hit, so by stacking camps, you can catch up a little, even around 12-14 last hits in 2-3 screams, which is something, depending on camps, ofc.
And I know how it feels to get ganked and your team doesn't help. Unless I play with a certain friend, who if sees that I am in trouble mid, she just camps mid making sure I win it. I was ganked a lot and at the end my team flamed me for the loss, even tough I could do nothing because silences.
