Juggernaut Counter
Which hero is good at countering Juggernaut? He isn't that reliant on Omnislash to fight, so only surviving his ultimate with Axe or Ghost Scepter isn't that helpful. I need help on actually killing this hero.

I played Shadow Shaman one game and attempted to Hex or Shackle him, but his Q gave him Magic Immunity. I tried Silencer, but he just popped BKB and purged the silence. I needed a hero with abilities that pierce Spell Immunity. I picked Bane at last, but he casted his Omnislash to be untargetable, which just ended up forcing our team to retreat from the teamfight.

This orange-skinned Simpsons mutha♥♥♥♥a is immune to every single ♥♥♥♥ in the game, so I need advise on how to defeat Juggernaut. Am I or my team doing something wrong?

Disable heroes are good, like Lion for example where the stun and hex have very small cast time and long cooldown, with fast reaction time is easy to counter juggernaut, and if you think ghost scepter is not an option stuff like Force staff and Eul is one of the best to counter Omnislash.

Force staff? Never came into my mind.

Tiny should be good. Dragon knight also has armor.
They are both fast enough to catch Jugger with their ulti and have amour bonus.

I don't know if amor from agility on Drow's ulti counts when Juggernauth makes his omnislash (because he is not really there/targetable either).
Needs testing but how to do that alone? I only know how to test heroes vs Axe when alone.

he is actually pretty reliant on his ultimate. It's what distinguishes him from AM or lifestealer or troll or wraith king. So unless you're specifically countering his ultimate, you're countering "generic melee carry"

And the answer to that is always mobility and lockdown. You force staff your team away from him and use heroes like SD purge, bane fiend's grip, venge swap, rod of atos to stop him from doing damage.

Chen is an excellent hero to have against him because the creep army soaks his ult when positioned correctly. Prophet is ok for the same reason, but he's super squishy to the hero himself.

Ursa can kill very easy Jugger.

Juggernaut is a versatile fighter. His damage comes from 3 main forms:

  • Blade Fury (magical damage), 5 s during which he is also immune to magic.
  • Agility with his critical multiplier from Blade Dance.
  • Omnislash (physical damage), ~4 s of invulnerability

The conclusion is that Juggernaut has the edge in every fight. If you successfully counter all of the above, you have high chances of winning in a battle against Juggernaut.

Firstly, any surprise attack on him will give you the edge, especially if you can disable him. So Riki, Bounty Hunter, Clinkz and Pudge are obvious picks, but the first are not as durable against an active Juggernaut. Therefore, pick Pudge or another durable hero with a non-channeled disable-ability instead and give it a Shadow Blade. Abaddon is extremely durable and would do well when matched up against Juggernaut but he would not be able to counter Juggernauts magic immunity or invulnerability..

Killing Juggernaut before the disabled state wears of is of course very difficult, so you must dodge him when he triggers his ability arsenal. Juggernauts magical damage is countered with spell resistance and quick running, so build Pipe of Insight and Phase Boots. His ultimate can be dodged with Ghost Scepter which makes you immune to physical damage for 4 seconds. Combining the 5 s silence and damage amplification effect of the Orchid Malevolence will effectively disable Juggernauts ability arsenal.

Some abilities also go through Juggernauts spell immunity: http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Spell_Immunity#Fully_piercing

Final verdict on countering Juggernaut:
Durable heroes with non-channeled disable abilities. (Pudge and Abaddon is also alright)
Shadow Blade
Pipe of Insight
Phase Boots
Ghost Scepter
Orchid Malevolence
Ganging up on him
Heroes with abilities piercing spell immunity

OD is the best counter there is to juggernaut.

Lina with aghs is one of the best counters.

Euls counters his ult.
Your ult counters his spin.
If you build bloodstone, you have the attack speed to match him late-game.
Fiery Soul + Euls + BoT/Phase lets you outrun him when he chases you.
You can kill him with nuke combo before he can even attack.

Crip = creep. He's talking about OD Astral enemy from last hitting creeps.

I find Nyx good because at the start of a team fights mana burn him as fast as possible, jugg has a mana pool that barely sustains him at 16 also ethreal blade and burrow are gud since if he targets u it has no effect

Forcestaff allowed you to evade Omnislash if you timing it properly, omnislash have delay between slashes where it prevent Juggernaut to follow enemies that tp away or blinking when omnislashing.
Blink spells counter jug. if timed right.
jug is agi, so have not so much hp to heal up.
baboon Apr 27 @ 1:08am
For omnislash a perfectly timed lotus orb is total counter. Better when your team has several lotuses.
He will never target a hero that can blink away, but if his omni randomly jumped on you and you can blink away, you can move away from other targets and blink to abort it.
Euls, ghost scepter, any kind of invis are partial counters that can be effective if jugg doesnt have nullifier, or enemy doesnt have detection.
Illusions are a good tanking tool, they soak up damage, and if you are fast you can spread your illusions and hopefully the rng will move jugg far enough to abort his omni when illusion dies.
Your team can also stack up hp and armor to tank omnislash, use slows like skadi, auras like shivas and AC to reduce his phys damage efficiency.
Best counter to enemy carry jugg is making sure your carry has more farm and kills.
Jugg is a hero that if left unchecked to farm and kill will snowball into raidboss, and only way to stop him would be a hard draft counter, a carry that can tank his omni, like spectre or medusa, or fat heroes like axe, tidehunter.

Lion is a prick to verse as a jugg when lion has a blink.

Euls is good to counter omni slash.

Apparently visage is his biggest counter. I wonder if you can use visage familiars to stun jugg out of his ulti!? Might need to look that up.

But who really wants to micro Visage, lets be real lol.
