I know it used to be 4k right out of the start* then reduce the final MMR by number of games you lost for callibration games so by this reasoning its probably due to MMR inflation by now it's probably like 5k-6k
new accounts are either new players or people who have been banned before.
Both new and experienced users should start with 0MMR.
You can check it in public chat or on the web.
It can be higher or lower up to your calibration.
Dont be that smurf guy - bad idea!
The system is designed to counter smurfs so that they cant just stomp new players whole time in pubs.
Obviously because the smurf detection can take several games you still get matched to smurfs in their first few games.
Also people who smurf generally learn ways to abuse certain heros versus particular ranks so because of this sometimes they get calibrated higher than they belong because they look better than they are with certain abusable heros (morphling, arc warden, visage, meepo) etc
There used to be a lot of Smurfs,
but now you hardly see them.
I think it's because of phone number verification.
In the past, there was no phone number verification,
so you could create as many accounts as you wanted and trade accounts.
I play on the SEA server,
and multiple Filipinos play on one account.
Because they are poor and do not have their own computers.
They wouldn't have had any concept of Smurfs.
But this doesnt stop smurfing.
people pay a lot more for a boosted smurf account than costs for a new sim card.
Account boosting will always exist as long as the market is there for it.believe it or not the way valve ban smurf accounts in wave is best way because it makes people less likely to buy account if they have lost it several months down the line after investing play time and cosmetics on it.
As for just actual smurfing it will always be a problem.but over the long term when valve keep banning smurf accounts that have long play time these smurfs will likely eventually quit and go play another game.
Imagine you play 1k hours of dota to climb mmr and it gets banned. There's only so many times these smurfs will commit to that before quitting (unless they have no job and no life)
Turbo does count for hidden unranked mmr
I have higher turbo mmr than my normal unranked non turbo mmr even in this account
Turbo like it name suggest is turbo true to the word
