You do the math.
I've notice that all of those games, I've been getting much less people failing to load - you know, less games being have to be remade. The system still in current development, and we are testing it. It's clear, Valve said it. I'm optmistic towards the future of the system, just wanted more ways to diversify "Commends" and make it something meaningful, and no infinite reports.
I don't use chat by the way - I don't have a hotkey to binded - all I do is link, shift click to suggest, and chatwhell and ocasional voicelines. I do tip good/bad plays, on both sides, like most Dota 2 players do.
We shouldn't need a system where only perfect people have a shot, we should have a system where average joe is fine too. The current system is punishing the Average Joe, and even you may notice that it look you a whole month to raise by 100 behaviour score despite trying to be near perfect.
It's the new standard. We have to adapt, and the new standard isn't even set in stone in Dota terms: they clearly stated that this a beta status.
Sadly, it is what it is. Sailors can't curse on the boat as they used to, and mutiny means death. I try to stay positive and believe that the system that used to reward me 3000 BS for 75 games that positive - 1.1 commend per match at least, no chat, "perfect gentleman" - now just made a variation of 50 points at best.
That means it is less volatile. And harsh on transgressors. Does it need to be tuned better? Of course. And we are right to complain. But we agreed, when they announced the system, that it would take some time to set things right.
Then 2 games i think, the player is stuck in low priority. Where a bad player will never win 5 games. If the player quit games in new player. It is normal to quit games, in this context.
The penalty is very harsh. Whatever.
The penalty doesn't come off. This is a problem.
I would like to recommend trading wins-losses, for low priority matching. Good behavior screw gets a free win, paired against bad behavior screws.
If there is a better solution, please, consider it.
There is nothing better on the table.
Put system where you can opt in or out of playing with new players unranked(just hear me out before judge)
If you sign up to be in match with new players you agree when you tick box not to be toxic towards new players in match and if found so will have a long term ban from being part of programme again. This would be to stop people abuse the system for what i mention below.
You incentivize this by giving lets say higher drop rate or potential to get some special chest designed for new players with random sets.We could also create new chest every lets say 6 months so there is still incentive for vets to keep part of this.(this is incentive for the new player but also participating veteran)for dotaplus users it gives you also a dotaplus points bonus.lets say 1000 points if win match with new player.
You also give the new player a 5 game immunity you behaviour score dropping.(This to counter troll and smurf accounts because if you make it any longer then you create more chance of smurfs just making new accounts to spam for the treasure or for people to grief on purpose)
We keep new player in this certain queue for 100 games. After that they can be matched with anybody in unranked, not just the ones who opted for the programme.
We also make this programme not available if you queue as a stack.
This way stacks cant use to stomp noobs to flex internet egos on twitch.
I think one of the reasons dota is still around is because 1.its free and 2 it doesnt need to confirm to console gamers because trust me if they released this on consoles the game would get changed to be ez mode for woke gamers.
I feel dota is a special game for valve.its always given me that impression.the fact always gaben video at TI.
I think this game means more for the valve company than alot of players think.
I dont think it would still get regular updates if it didnt.
You go look any game and people blame valve or game devs for their 20 year old pc not being able to run game released 2 years ago.
Or this forum another great example.many the people who cry here are people who got their smurf accounts banned or got banned for cursing and racial abuse at team mates.
Then you have all the people who are bad at game who abuse the fact that there is a smurfing issue to blame for every game they lose because they think they are next TI winner but being held back by team mates or enemy smurfs.....
The reason devs got more involved about smurfs was from feedback from places like reddit and from casters and proplayers and from statistics
Maybe, but the implementation error i talked about is real and not fixed to this day.
Maybe, but with specs you can draw a clear line where complaints become ridiculous.
Every banwave ever.
I lost before, i win now, i didn't improve in skill. How?
The reason devs do anything at all is to please their payers from time to time. I doubt anyone who loves videogames still works at Valve.
Why try to be like HG or CIG when you can be like EA and Actiblizz, and make a so much more money?
