RIP - DOTA Says NO to Families, NO to content and YES to shutdown

As a special Xmas prezzie for everyone, Dota decided to do the worst seasonal update ever (i.e. pretty much non existent) and to pair it with one of the most offensive and inaccurate mass ban they have ever done. Basically, unless you are a bit of a nerd and using VPN or high level security software on your PC, if you are a family you are only allowed 1 Dota account for the whole family. Your sons, or kids or even partners are not allowed to use separate steam/dota accounts even if that is exactly what Steam tells you to do.
And as a result, we get the biggest exodus of Dota we have had ever, following on from the worst international prize pool ever.
RIP Dota, this extended family of 8 who used to connect via dota games is now Anti VALVE.

I must say though; Thankyou for the Dota of the past who actually cared about the players and being accurate and gave us years of fun, but your dead to us now and goodbye <3

The problem is only 1. Every single smurfs that is banned. All saying its their brother acc or their son acc or their family acc or their friend who come to their house. All of them are a very convincing story. But there are no way to confirm that information.

But there is. It would be very easy. Smurfs are smurfs and hated because they are deliberately playing on new accounts so they can dominate lower rank players. If the accounts are similar rank and good credit scores that is not a smurf and highly likely to be innocent family.
That is very easy to identify and see, so how can anyone ever claim that these bans were ok when there are so many people posting with similar situations like my nephews? You cant say because a computer has 2 steam accounts it is a smurf when millions of gamer are in families who may not be as rich as american families and cant afford 1 gaming computer for each person right?
There is no logic in calling someone a smurf of saying using a family PC is not ok when the actual evidence backs up the family and shows there is no smurfing?
Doesnt the Dota community want good behaved, genuine players?

just a lazy way of valve to mass ban. lets say they catch 500 smurf in 1000 ban.
they will lose the other 500 genuine players. good job valve.

1. I’m not saying this about you. I said this in general.

2. The real smurf who made their 2nd account with the same rank and same good behaviour score with the purpose to not care if they will win or lose (because its their smurf account) will say its their brother (because its on the same rank).

3. There are no system in the world could identify this kind of smurf i mention in point 2.

And yes smurfer is slick and very smart because their purpose is to trick the system into thinking its not them who play the 1st and 2nd account.

The funny fact is I started to get mid quite often with all roles enabled. Clearly some Smurf accounts have Been wiped 😂 poor nephews and brothers who all liked to play arc warden and meepo mid 🥲

What if one brother is the highest rank and the other is herald? According to your system they would count as smurfs also cause of insane difference in rank. Genetics in the family can still produce different capabilties in different siblings. Or one sibling is from another family.

Family card is what all smurfs use when getting caught.
Expecially when one who claimed to be falsely banned start bending blame on valve instantly assuming false bans are significantly larg amount in their post instead of seeking individual resolution which mean its not a false ban but a resentment to valve and the system. There are plenty of algorithms in confirming smurfs and false bans are less than 1% of the total.

I would expect them to be doing fingerprint like anybrain, you can tell if it's the same player easily before banning

nobody is against smurfs bans or cheat bans. the problem here is people are getting false flagged for smurfing. some of my friends introduced new friends to dota2 and coached them from discord, those new people got banned for no reason.

the system is not working accurately when it can't tell the difference between a smurf and an actual good new player.

That is because the smurfer act like your friends. So the system cannot differentiate between the real victim or the smurfer who play victim.

Of course if Valve check to their home physically one by one its possible but its obviously won’t happened.

Worst year for dota players i wonder did they ban any pro player they know to have more then 1 acc, maybe there some wrong bans it is not first time they made error, and rewards sucks big time ,if you are causal player u will not even get them u need 200 game to finish event.
