Because Dota doesnt care about if you are a smurf or not, they just random banned half the players whose computer may have been used for another account unless the computer had VPN setup. i.e. families, people who lost access to one account such as email was hacked and made a new one, people who brought a laptop from a friend etc.
Sorry you had this sort of Xmas prezzie, hopefully a new game is released next year from a different company so everyone has somewhere to go.

those who get the coal , valve said it just means you have other smurff accounts that you play on. dont think valve are dumb ! you have other accounts and they found it is you . that why they banned you . valve explain why people get coal gift.

This is incorrect, both my nephews were most certainly not smurfs, both same mmr/rank (older a bit better) and good credit scores. VALVE said no to families who dont have a lot of money to buy everyone a seperate computer... or to anyone who ever lost a Dota account and had to make a new one.
Go play the games and youll see the smurfs are still there same amount because this ban didnt ban smurfs it banned innocent people. But I guess you wont want to hear this because then you actually have to think about being wrong :)

A lot of sentences to hide the 1 real sentence "or to anyone who ever lost a dota account and had to make a new one"......so you admit they have multiple accounts? And you are lying about them not having multiple accounts why? Another example of someone trying to hide the ball.

He starts off "my nephews were most certainly not smurfs, both same mmr/rank" as if mmr means anything XD Then he hides the sentence admitting to having multiple accounts. Then goes on to say only innocent get banned.

This is a classic liar sandwich. Hide the truth between the statements you want others to focus on. This season has at least been wonderful to see all the mental gymnastics
