Lion is literally the best hero ever made ever

Just wanted to fan boy over how good Lion is in solo queue.

Stay on map forever.

Fits into every team.

No easy counter.

Amazing disables.

Amazing ability scaling.

Great with a bunch of heroes.

Can counter a few with mana drain.

Doesn't really need items but of course excels with blink as hex is instant disable.

Has the ability with best name in game.


I honestly don't think there's any better solo queue hero. I have a bad win rate but that's because I played him when I was very new to Dota. Won 13 of my last 18 games (when I started playing him properly).

If you want EZ MMR forget OD. Just play Lion.

I agree, he's one of the best. Fits into just about any draft, and impale has a very high utility and skill cap, especially with blink dagger.

You need to buy smoke on him much earlier though. He is one of the best lvl 2 gankers there is. Buy smoke, go to jungle, stack camps, gank mid. Really good idea to get active early with a hero like Lion.

Your classic hard support. Very safe pick. You can't go wrong when drafting lion. A good first pick no matter what you want out of your team.

Yes and no. It can be very hard to get a good bkb off against blink hex. It certainly helps against him, but it doesn't completely screw him like it does Earth Spirit. I think the oft forgotten Lotus Orb is actually the item that hard counters him.

The king of the jungle that can't jungle. Still, I like Lion. If you want to play Lion, you just pick it. Who will bother to counter Lion anyway? Hard to go wrong with him (unless the team go full stupid and picks only hard supports, which probably never happens).

Mini ravage, hex and them finger... I don't play him very often, but I had fun in the few games I used him (not in the last game though. screw 4 man parties).

Also, BKB isn't the end of the world. Lion usually picks of people by surprise. If you have someone with you, with your stun and hex, the enemy won't have any opportunity to use BKB.

Yea Lion isn't a great team fighter tbh. But you and +1 can usually kill most heroes so blink hex and like you said they can't BKB.

According to Dotabuff Lion actually has an advantage vs Anti Fun. I guess it's because he has enough lockdown to make ganking him possible. Also once he gets manta you can destroy both illusions no matter how strong.

AM's problem is usually being disabled and not being able to blink. Lion is one of the mastah disablers of the game. While he won't dish a lot of damage on AM, he will give his team the opportunity to kill him.

12.4K gold and ult expended for pos 5 support with 3k net worth. Or, Lion = fast fingers and sheeps before stun, dead nyx.

That's quite a lot to counter a hard support. I think you should focus in the hard carries. The ones that Lion is helping getting fat.
