Bristleback illusions don't proc bristleback's passive

There are many other passives that manta works with, but why doesn't Manta illusions get bristleback's passive? It visually made quill sprays happen but they do not actually stack quill sprays

Nope. They get the damage reduction but they don't proc quills. Why? Good question.

My guess is because illusions can't cast spells. Right? I can't think of any cases where they can. They only cast illusory copies of spells, like PL's spear or CK's stun.
