Valve themselves said that it would be released closer to the end of September, and updates are usually released from Thursday to Friday, the last 2 weeks remained, the day before yesterday the dota servers lagged, they could already secretly download the update, more dota sites appeared, most likely with an update, but they open with an error

Why do people think Valve is releasing a Dota 2 battlepass when they specifically said they weren't?

Well, the fact that the update in cs2 comes out just makes it possible to release an update for dota today, if 2 major patches for two games are released, then how will this affect the stability of the servers

Because it will most likely be the same battlepass, only changed and possibly cut by some percentage, besides, all people are used to calling it that

Probably because they don't read the Dota2.com website on the update or announcement about it.

however. there will be an update out soon...
we can hope they just re-named battlepass to something else. ^^
