Valve doesn't care about dota 2 anymore. 2023 Compendium is the clearest proof of this. We can easily understand it by looking at the latest updates, potential new characters and content.

Its a fact that cosmetics made the battlepasses and compendiums viable and profitable for Dota 2 scene. Take the items away along with the mini games and cavern it came along with and you are now touching the lowest of the lowest prize pools ever.
Add to that now DPC is also cancelled.

I don't know, I kind of like the game as it is, it is running and valve keeps improving things. If they add new character - great. But if they leave it as it is - I could care less, barely mastered 15% of current hero pool to even care about some next complicated thing

They also havent even put out all the planned stuff yet lmao. The compendium is pure team spirit, playsounds and support. They literally said they're not going to make you pay to engage in the gameplay related stuff this year its just not here yet.

Sadly, this is true but it's not like it was a surprise or something, if they could cut both of your arms to money they would do it without any hesitation.
The oldest dota get, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the matchmaking is (1/10 game are balanced and this is pure madness), passes and all other paid stuff are meaningless and there is no real content update with heroes.

I mean this litteraly wrote on the game in the main menu "go ♥♥♥♥ yourself we just want your money duuuude"

I don't really care if they make new hats. People cry about it every year. This is a free 10-year-old game that is still good enough and supported enough that it has 400,000 players a day and content updates every few months. Idk how many multiplayer games you've tried but that's absolutely insane and IMO you should be grateful, a lifespan like that at this scale of players is virtually unheard of.

Sorry you didn't get to pay $400 for a taunt where Juggernaut turns into a burrito or whatever you're depressed about today. If you want a steady stream of monetized battle pass slop with somewhat similar gameplay you can go try league
