BKB having 50% magic resistance and doesn't deny spells is dumb. Needs to be fixed!!!
BKB having 50% magic resistance and doesn't deny spells is dumb because you target the hero with BKB on but the targetted spell does not cast but the cooldown still activates!!

it casts. Deals damage, applies debuf.
AntDX316 Apr 24, 2023 @ 1:38am
it doesn't hex/shackle etc.

Cause BKB gives debuff immunity. When you are under BKB -- you are debuff immune. It's applied to you, but as long as you are immune, it won't affect you. But the moment immunity is gone -- effect of applied debuff will work for remaining duration.
In human language it means: try to apply your debuffs right at the end of enemy BKBs. That's why you have to check their inventory to see if they have BKBs, and if so, what duration it is, so that you could kinda feel your way through it, apply your debuffs right at the end of the duration.

If you cast, lets say, Witch Doctors stun, if you casted it right, by the time it will reach BKBed enemy, BKB will wear off, and Cask will stun him. If you did it too early -- it won't. But it will bounce off. In a situation when BKBed enemy is the closest one to you and others are unreachable, casting Casks on him, knowing it won't stun him, but it will stun others -- that's legit. The other situation: a PL who chases a BKBed enemy on low HP, you time your Lance right, cast it right at the end of BKB, and it reaches and kills your target.

BKB was too OP, the entire match was relying whether it's on CD or not. Too big of a role for a 4k item.

It got nerfed, and good riddance.

it was better when you couldn't even target a BKBed enemy

it gives the false illusion it actually does something when it does nothing for certain spells

it takes time to know it doesn't work

examples are scythe of vyse, shackles, hex, etc.

it's bad to know 1 doesn't work but using every single spell on the same hero.. I'm sure I'm not the only one in the world

You will adjust. It's a good change.
AntDX316 Apr 24, 2023 @ 4:03pm
I've adjusted but what about everyone else who thinks their spells do nothing as a newbie?

I have almost 9000 games played, over 13k hours of Dota 2.
so confuse Apr 24, 2023 @ 4:20pm
yep Skill issue.

they see, they learn, they adapt too

bizarre; how did you first learn how old bkb worked? reading? situational observation? tutoring? whatever it was; that same method applies to current bkb
It is still better to do your spells out of bkb, they lose the 50% bonus magic resistance.

What happens with something like shackles? does it onesidedly channel until bkb wears off?

Good for skill shots and a new thing to work on but its bad because it won't be long until there is scripts to take advantage of this. things like deafening blast pushing opposite direction, glimpse cast whatever its delay is before bkb ends, theres so much room for abuse.

the idea is for it to be denied from being spellcasted before anything even happens like before

It channels twosidedly, lol. You and the other object are shackled, stun (debuff) is applied to you. But you can move around and do stuff, as long as you have Immunity, the moment it wears off -- you will be stunned for the remaining duration of shackle debuff.

No, dude. I don't want to run away from the fight, because enemies bought a 4k item. I have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of magic damage, and if 50% gets blocked -- so be it, I'm gonna cast my ♥♥♥♥ to whatever I can to win a teamfight, I don't want to be completely powerless against someone who bought a 4k item.
Hope it's clear, and conversation is over.

your stun/hex does nothing, 50% damage block when it doesn't even break a WD ult?
