Dota 2

Here I have written how the new rating system works
The new rating system in Dota 2 works as follows:
1. Immediately after the update, you received a number of points hidden from you mmr. The basis for this value is unknown to anyone but the developers.
2. During the calibration games, it doesn't matter how you play, the main thing is to win, they give you less for winning than they take away for losing, the first few games have the greatest impact on your future mmr. After that, everything will be in +- one place. Games after 3-5 will give you few mmr points, no matter how much you dominate your opponent.
3. Why does it give 1-2%? Is it good? It gives a small percentage to those who have not played the rating much or those who have not played it for a long time. This system has both disadvantages and advantages. The downside is that you can lose a lot and lose a lot from the initial values of the mmr, or gain a lot by winning the maximum number of games.
4. How do you know what rank you will get? It will be the rank of the players you met in the first game of the +-3*(sub rank) calibration.
5. Does the system give players an initial value of mmr on a preferential basis? 50-50, the criteria for their calculation are unknown. Many of those who have received a large increase of 1500-2000 mmr do not play on them. It is also unclear why a large amount of mmr points (-1000-1500) is taken away. Perhaps the system considers these accounts busted. It is not known by what criteria the system determines such accounts.
6. Why are there so many 0/20 players or are they bots? No, they are not bots, they just play like that. There are so many of them because the system just gave them a 1500-2000 mmr bonus, and now they play at a much higher rating than their playing skills. The biggest problem with such players is that they have little understanding of the game, they are not flexible in the gameplay, and they are terrible at navigating the game.

P.s. You can roughly find out your hidden numbers based on the ranks of people in the game with you

The initial mmr is seeded based on your previous mmr.

Before I have 3100, after update 2000, my friend who don't play ranked 2 years got 5000, his last mmr 3500

Well it's strange you managed to lower your mmr when even recruits get free up to crusader.

Maybe you haven't played for a long time?

I haven't played the rating for about 2 months, but then why did my friend who hasn't played it for 2 years get a rating upgrade? He played the rating because I asked him to do so to find out his rating

Because everyone get mmr upgrade.
The question is how you managed to lower it. The only thing that comes to mind is mmr decay.

and apart from MMR rating, the rank medals now have a percentage beneath them. can anyone discuss further how they go up/down? thanks

The percentages on the medals were there before, the percentage is growing, and when the percentage reaches 100, the rank increases

mmr decay?
it is a system where if a player has not played ranked for a while, next time they play their mmr will be lower because they have not kept up to date with new features and/or are out of practice so they won't play as well or remember as much about the game

this happens when someone abandons ranked for a long period of time, how long im not sure but in immortal rank I think its much shorter time period

Then why did they give +1500 mmr to a person who hasn't played the rating for two years?

that is separate from mmr decay
recalibration overrides it, mmr decay is usually mid season

Because main complaint of last year was people not progressing in mmr and valve "solved" it by giving everyone a free mmr boost.

Why some ppl lost like 1000 mmr then? Does not look like much of a boost to me.

That is a real riddle to me. Even herald are gets put in crusader.

I guess it can be tied to long period of inactivity with mmr decay that wasn't reflected or noticed or absolute bust during calibration, but it isn't like I did well and still got like 600 mmr or something.
