Unfair Smurf Ban on Returning Player

What if you're a returning player and you got banned from smurfing? Played Dota 2 from 2012 to 2019. Had to quit during 2019 since the game was just on a decline and the updates back then were probably too much for me as it made the game not as fun as it used to. Decided to quit the game and just focus on finishing my studies. Currently finished and I decided to play Dota 2 once again. Looked at the updates, looked at a couple of Arteezy stream contents in YT and thought that the game seems fun and balanced now compared to before I quit. Moving on, trying to login to steam and unfortunately forgot the credentials, email, old phone on my main account and so, turned to account recovery to try maybe salvage an account that I created long ago on an email that I currently use now. Luckily this one popped up, and was enjoying the game till I got a smurf ban. I am currently playing in a local internet cafe and that might have contributed to my ban as there would be a couple of accounts logged there or maybe I just got banned because of my gameplay as I currently am stomping games? Used to be immortal on SEA Server at 7k mmr back then and currently playing 30 out of 100 hrs of unranked in this new account just to try to play rank again as playing unranked just isnt my thing due to people griefing, toxic, low skill level. Just voicing my frustrations here as I cannot even play DotA 2 due to a smurf ban I did not even commit. Valve just has to up their game and they are just killing it with the latest ban wave. Well they were already killing this dying game since 2019, kudos to them for it *sarcasm*.

I guess the only people happy with the smurf ban wave are just actual low mmr scrubs, low skilled players. Sucks to be you guys for playing low skill level of DotA. Anyways, enjoy the game. I'll just wait till Valve has actual brains when their game will be dead and have the lowest playerbase of all time.

agree absolutly. and there are a lot of cases when people play with friends, siblings on same PC, or online cafe (for exmaple there are still populare in CIA) and now they banned or marked for smurf.

and what we got now? - real smurfs, who sell accounts, and destroy rank balance will continue their burglar job....it is very easy for them to bypass all these valve detection systems (everything is described at the first lines of Google), they will continue to sell even more accounts on illegal sites now, and now those who played for example on 2k and were satisfied, but were banned will leave or just buy a $5 dollar account with 3-4k mmr and ruin games for decent players.

PS: for any toxic comments - im not banned , but this update raises too many obvious questions

Well you have Valve giving free arcanas, free immortal stuff, free treasures for everyone. Heck I even got Dota Plus for free on this acccount. Just what a waste since I got really good hero sets and quickly unlocked their free 13 10th anniv treasures. Even the TI Prizepool isn't even breaking 30+ mil USD now and will not continue for TI's to come. For sure you know the game is dying when they do those free ♥♥♥♥. Pfttt with the NOT dying game btw. Mentioned above are pretty much the signs how DotA is a dying game and for sure with this ban wave there'd be a big chunk of players who got unfair "smurf" bans would turn to other games. Enjoy. I love DotA 2 tho but the ban wave they did today was just unjustifiable to some who just try to enjoy the game.

They just trying to make a quick buck by banning you and having you Re-buy your skins. Its a dying game correct and this is what they will it, it appears. :csgoskull:

You keep saying that, but I haven't seen a single person indicate they were going to rebuy a damn thing. Why would anyone who got banned even keep playing? Let alone repurchase a bunch of expensive cosmetics?
