flagged as Smurf in game

hello OneAutumnPlayer here,

been flagged as Smurf in game. ive been playing for years and got stuck in herald then went up to guardian, i recalibrated after a while when gaining courage to play ranked again ( been playing turbo only for the past few years ) but when i played rank i noticed that i did good? well better than the last time i played and got recab in archon crusader rank. i dont know why and how this happens and i think based on the discussion I've read on the dota community and facebook group im in players like us(me) who sometimes play in internet cafe got flagged as smurf cause we sometimes use PC that other player use also. as such we think the their system flags this as a driver (someone who use acc to boost it) logging our acc to their PC (when its just an internet cafe in our area).
i just hope that no innoccent players get banned because of such reason. not all player have the money to own their own PC and people like to play along with friends.
we even skips class just to play DOTA and as such its painful to see that we may be banned when we didnt even do anything wrong.

Edit: this post is just to raise an opinion for those who was hit in the crossfire of the banning. We thank valve for actively making the community healthier by removing boosters and smurf. I posted this on behalf of my friends both in real life and game who was banned because they dont own a personal computer or used a computer from a public internet cafe.

What if you're a returning player and you got banned from smurfing? Played Dota 2 from 2012 to 2019. Had to quit during 2019 since the game was just on a decline and the updates back then were probably too much for me as it made the game not as fun as it used to. Decided to quit the game and just focus on finishing my studies. Currently finished and I decided to play Dota 2 once again. Looked at the updates, looked at a couple of Arteezy stream contents in YT and thought that the game seems fun and balanced now compared to before I quit. Moving on, trying to login to steam and unfortunately forgot the credentials, email, old phone on my main account and so, turned to account recovery to try maybe salvage an account that I created long ago on an email that I currently use now. Luckily this one popped up, and was enjoying the game till I got a smurf ban. I am currently playing in a local internet cafe and that might have contributed to my ban as there would be a couple of accounts logged there or maybe I just got banned because of my gameplay as I currently am stomping games? Used to be immortal on SEA Server at 7k mmr back then and currently playing 30 out of 100 hrs of unranked in this new account just to try to play rank again as playing unranked just isnt my thing due to people griefing, toxic, low skill level. Just voicing my frustrations here as I cannot even play DotA 2 due to a smurf ban I did not even commit. Valve just has to up their game and they are just killing it with the latest ban wave. Well they were already killing this dying game since 2019, kudos to them for it *sarcasm*.

will still be flagged or banned my buddy got banned when he logged in at TNC cauayan here in Philippines he said to me that he wanted to play again but was banned after logging in there. he already got a message prior to playing that he is being monitored because he is associated with a player who do things in opposition to the legal terms meaning boosting or smurfing. but the only player he played with was with me (using my own PC scared to play on cafe) and my buddy who also own a PC he went to the Comshop cause its close to his work. i also recieved a notice thats why i avoid playing outside with my buddy. only he was banned because he played on a public computer.

Working as intended. Valve is clearing the house of smurfs and toxic players. The only people complaining are the former rather than the latter. I hope you can improve as a person from this.

How about the people who plays just for fun in public computer shops? And got banned because they have similar IP since they use the same PC?

Im sorry if im not as active as you are or have the capital to invest in the game and gain some levels like you. And i dont know how you came up with that conclusion my profile? And my post? Im just stating facts since even players like me who only play when theres actually enough time to escape and relax. I posted this since my friend and buddy was banned because he used a public computer.

That s why ML is now and still better despite the decline in supportes ml is still preferred due to better game balancing, the developers hopefully dies soon and get s replaced with better breed of developers who are not stubborn and not a couch potato
