Dota 2
Queue times on new account are brutal..
It's taking 10-15 minutes to queue on US east and west for Turbo.

I'm just trying to get my 100 hours so I can play ranked but these queue times make it hard.

Is this how it is for everyone?

Having a new account means smurfing now? New account doesn't have to be an alternate account, right?

Tell that to all the people who have been making threads here for the last couple of hours to moan about all their accounts being locked/banned

Valve can react with locking accounts or banning players as long as they don't need the extra playtime these accounts are providing. I don't think that players will play the same hours if they are restricted to their main account. There are reasons why people create alternate accounts and play on them instead of on their main. Maybe Valve should focus their invest on making playing on higher level accounts more attractive?

Do not try to create a new account, at the risk of getting perma ban 2038 on all accounts

Valve consider smurfing to be a form of cheating so I doubt they will care if the playtime of cheaters go down and to be honest the rest of us don't care as well.
The quality of gameplay for the genuine players should always be the highest priority and for years the griefers, toxics and smurfs have ran this game into the ground, its been a long time coming but maybe this is a positive turning point.

I would assume the worst. Seeing that they simply want an excuse for you to Create a new account and most of all and more importantly most likely Re-buy all the skins.

I wouldn't play until further notice for the shame of these changes affecting you this greatly. It is Evil.
I miss activities that reward positive and high level gaming. The developers and the player community are surprisingly unanimous about that the game suffers mainly from bad apples in the basket and their too meek punishment, and not from a lack of rewards for good and positive gameplay. Negativity over positivity, a typical Dota2 approach.

You mean, that "quality of gaming" experience as given by the fact that genuine high level players earn less rewards and satisfaction for a close 60 min loss at Immortal than a lucky Herald player carried by his team mates in a 20 min stomp victory? In all that "Dota is best at even skill levels invests" someone forgot about to reward higher level players for their high skills.
It's not a smurph account.

To summarize I got signed out of my main steam on accident (Trying to fix an issue with dota) and forgot my password and account details.

My only option was to start fresh while I search for my main account's details so I could log in. After two days I found the password and username for my main but I kinda like the new dota experience and the idea of a fresh start on streaks.

I also don't like how it sometimes displays my total games and win loss ratio. It's not something I'm particularity proud of and would hide it if I could.

Here is the uncomfortable truth, over 90% of the player base, which inc all of us in these forums, aren't good dota players, the high ranking players make up a very small % of the overall player base with the rest being spread out in the lower brackets.
We make up the numbers of the game and we are the main player base, the top teams and players spend far longer trying to get matches than we do, the Devs may cater to them more as they bring in the big money and advertising from streaming, merch and tournaments but without the rest of us scrubs this game is dead.

'It's not a smurf account. I mean, yeah I'm smurfing after I refused to just contact support and get my original account back, and now I have my account back but yeah, I like really smurfing. But it's not a smurf account!'
I bet new player mode queue isn't that long

People like you know don't even know what your talking about. It takes 100 hours of game time to even play ranked. I've just reached 20 and by that time I will be fairly calibrated if I play ranked.

The worse part is that this steam account is paid to defend this game lol

Who the hell said anything about ranked? Smurfing is beating up on people at a lower skill level than you, and those exist in every game mode in Dota. Smurfing can also be used to dodge comms bans or other punishments. Whether you're smurfing in ranked mode or not doesn't matter in the slightest.
