How does MMR work?
I read on several websites that the MMR rating is scored like this:

Your MMR will change with every ranked game you play based on your performance and the skill level of your opponents. It is possible for a player’s MMR to increase or decrease after each match. Usually, a win will result in an increase and a loss will have a decrease. If you don’t want to change your MMR, you can play unranked games.

On other sites it says:

The premise is simple: a player gains or loses 30 MMR for every solo win or loss and 20 MMR for every party win or loss.

After match 7094763826 as Bristle I was at 440 MMR.
After that match I had in total 9 losses and 7 wins.
It went:
L - W - L - W - L - L - W - L - L - L - L - W - W - W - W - L

According to the logic of what I read I should have in total -60 MMR which would total 380 MMR, yet currently I stand at 320 MMR.

I am well aware I need to improve my skill and I'm slowly working on it, I don't expect to improve instantly but I am very confused with the MMR system because it feels like I'm being punished much harshly for a loss than I am rewarded for a win.

It especially became disheartening when I managed to have 4 wins in a row yet my MMR didn't change from 350, yet as soon as I lost a game after it dropped to 320 MMR.

I'd appreciate any insight, thank you.
For trolls who wanna say I need to improve and I play ♥♥♥♥ I am well aware of it that is why I am in the bracket that I am.

Mmr system was changed recently. You can track your mmr change with dota plus option. Although I wouldn't bother

Also hero in mind that game results including mmr changes and medal changed comes with lag, sometimes a big one.

I went from Legend 2 (3k mmr) to Divine 1 (4.6k mmr). I probably should have been here years ago but the system suppressed players like myself alot. I reckon it also takes into play time and game time. Be interesting to see my next win or loss what happens. I don't know the calculation but even in some of the "divine games" i had, people weren't even getting the new rune at 7 minutes, but yeah prior to the last 5 games, like maybe the 8 before it was really good and high skill. But the last 5 been wtf gaming

I think its going to be based on things (like i said on forums for many years), if you support you ward, you gank, get assists, limit deaths, etc (i.e. kill participation and playing your role how you should be) then it compares it to the community average of that level. But effectively its not a "linear system" anymore. Like i harked on for years, why should a carry whose done stuff all in the game but farm jungle then jump in and feed with like a 1/5/3 end of game when there was like 40 kills on your team that you participated in and you win, why do they get plus 30? When obviously the other 4 on your team did all the work? So hopefully its like that but will let you know after a few more wins and losses on my end how mmr MMR looks.

i cross checked my recent games, if you played well, but lose, you will lose a few mmr, if you carrying really hard and playing really well, you`ll get more than 30 (a friend of mine got 200 mmr in a single match) so basically the current mmr system isn`t just counting on your W or L, but based on your current gameplay, and past gameplay
I just got 40 off that win. But yeah i went from legend 2 to Divine 1 so i assume it will slow down the higher you get. Its finally not linear. Finally its not linear. This will also stop account buying and boosting, as if you buy a divine account you will fall straight back down to crusader etc and really fast. Man i harked on this for years, 5 years actually and they finally listened! Like they listened to that shadow amulet afk fix.
