Dota 2 Battle Pass Exclusive Items: Fueling Steam Account Trading

It has become evident that the battle pass exclusive items (prestiges, arcanas, etc.) have contributed significantly to the rise of Steam account trading. These exclusive items, available for a limited time, often become highly sought after by players. Unfortunately, this demand has created a market where accounts are traded. I have witnessed numerous instances where players purchased Steam accounts due to this reason, only to find themselves, after years of investing in Battle Passes, victims of malicious account retrieval by the original owner. These players are unable to seek justice for their lost digital assets, which is for sure not supported by valve. (Just search for related videos on YouTube or Bilibili that highlight the unfortunate experiences of account retrieval).
I believe it is in loyal players' as well as valve's best interest to address this issue and find a solution that promotes fairness and discourages account trading. One potential approach could involve the reintroduction of these exclusive items from previous Battle Passes, but with certain restrictions to ensure fairness and discourage trading. For example, these items could be made non-tradeable and non-giftable. Furthermore, their selling price could be set higher than the amount players originally paid to obtain them during the Battle Pass, ensuring that older players are not disadvantaged.
Do you believe that reintroducing exclusive items as non-tradeable and setting higher selling prices would help address the problem of account trading?

number one reason in account selling/buying is smurfing. they deal in ranks.

cosmetics aren't that big of a market.

Valve released their numbers as to how many people get the battlepass arcanas every year and the number is 5%.. people who claim to want them re-released are very much less likely to actually buy them. (note that the 5% is not of all players, but from those who go past level 500 each year)

You're probably right. But I'm one of those who would like to pay. I guess more options for players is not a bad idea. But dota2 seems to be one of the hardest way for valve to make money, especially compared to just selling games and so.

its called exclusive for a reason!!!! if u buy another acc thats on you because steam clearly banned trading accounts! if u wanted an arcana you shouldve spent money like all other people who have it and earned it man not brag and nag and cry about how valve made some cosmetics exclusive! i myself too want some arcanas which i didnt get via bp but its gone get over it. start a life my friend
