Greetings MAC plebs, I being the generous big brained chad have decided you help you small brained OSX users with masochistic tendencies that seem for some reason to want to run a 10 year old game on Apple Silicon. So you can now get straight back to feeding mid or rushing AGHS with your nuke-support hero and starving your hard carry of XP and Gold only to flame and blame everyone but yourself when you lose in late game with an impressive KDR.

1). Easy mode - Reinstall the game and ONLY run with -novid launch options
2). Hard Mode - Browse local files and delete anything related to:

- game->dota->shaders_vulkan...etc.
- game->core-shaaders_vulkan/pcgl etc.
-game->dota->shardercache directory


Anything else that looks like its related to vulkan, opengl or shaders.

Verify the dota game files again to get the necessary files reinstalled and only launch with -no_vid, do NOT use -opengl X -vulkan X -dx11 X

I will do some more experiments with my superior intellect and report back to you MAC kiddies should we get any further performance issues and see whether we can run with vulkan or whether the native support for METAL is sufficient.

What did you try and what platform are you on? These things help, please use your brain and provide some info.

I prefer Valve support the game for mac os without the players tweak anything. Especially M1 and M2 chip.
