hey
i just have a question do you guys are really ok with this game's rank system?
i was an old dota 1 player,i hadnt played dota 1 for 6-7 years and i came to dota 2,i didnt preform well at 100 hours and the game ranked me with herald 5
now its 3-4 years i am playing dota 2 and i am really good at this game now,my friends tell me your gameplay is sth like ancient 2-3
but when i play ranked i cant go further than guardian
because every match there are some really bad players in team,i cant win 2v5 1v5 or 3v5
some games enemy team has those bad players and i win,but i lose next.if i win 5 games in a row i lose 4 games in a row after,i am stuck in this rank forever.wtf is this ?
even if i make a new account i know these ppl exist at unraked matches too,the ruin my 100 hours unranked matches and i again get guardian or sth like that.
i have friends who are ancient legend who got this ranks easily at 6-7 years ago and still they have that rank.
but now days its impossible

why there is no rank reset? all games reset ranks after a year or at it's season but dota 2 never reset ranks in any season or patch or big update or year

yeah same man, cant play on my rank due of dumbs. theres 2 variants you play on core role and your support is useless/feeding or you play support and your core useless/feeding.
of course theres situations when whole team is good or whole team is bad even me due of better enemy team, but this is exceptions
just wait for recalibration and play on it on your max, so you can get up to 500 mmr per recalibration as i remember

There are no ranked mmr mode when this game is launched for years. So if ranked doesn't make you satisfied better just play unranked normal mode.

you can recalibrate under account settings in your dota client but that is no rank reset because you reset with the same shadow mmr

Recalibration just doubles the MMR gain/loss per win/lose respectively for 10 games. It's not a true MMR reset, just meant to get you to your true ranking faster if you are over or underperforming for your current bracket.

All the 9 other players you get in your matches are on average around the same skill level. The only variable affecting your mmr in the long-run is your skill level. If you don't go up in mmr, you either don't play enough OR are actually at your real mmr as is.

Overall skill level grew quite a lot over the last decade, 3k mmr now is more difficult than 3k mmr when the system was just released.

The matchmaking mostly works. The very fact boosters exist means that a high skill player will always be able to climb out of the lower ranks. Most people don't seem to realize that in the lower brackets, general performance is so mixed because that is bracket where people are skilled at the least amount of different mechanics in varying quantities. So you can a support who's gotten super good at pulling and stacking camps, but underperforms in teamfights because his reaction time isn't great. Or a carry who's really good at picking off supports in a teamfight but his farming efficiency is crap. Or you have players who are just mediocre at everything, which is the actual case for most people. But, we tend to notice those players who are really bad at one particular thing and don't notice the things they're actually good at, so it skews our perception that in low-mid ranks semi-good players are getting matched with actually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ players, when that's not really the case. They're just good at different things that still on average wins them enough games to keep them on par with you.
Climbing the ranks is entirely a matter of mastering every mechanic in the game for every role.

Also this. Truly new Dota players are few and far between, and most go to Herald almost immediately. Majority of players have been playing for years and as a result the skill floor has risen a lot. The average Dota 2 player today is probably almost good enough to play in the first ever TI back in 2010.

i dunno what you bragging bro, but if you cant get out of guardian, then you are not good enough.

I got out of guardian playing mid solo and went to legend.
I got out of guardian playing BH support and went to archon 4.

No there is no mmr reset.
The world is not fair. havent you noticed?

If you want, buy an ancient account if you think you are that good.

It is all the same, from herald to ancient, you cannot win a game if you have a team mate doing dumb things.

Dont bother playing on weekends, that is where the kids dont have school and a lot of them play rank on weekends. U gonna ruin your mmr more than you can raise it.

You can reset your rank when you're are in game press on setting in the top left then go to account then Activate Re-calibration, you can do it once a year.

You are actually able to gain up to a 100 mmr per win if the game thinks you don't belong in this bracket. I went from Legend 1 to ancient 2 in about 12 Wins. You can check Dotabuff on that.

I started to pick other role then team expected. Mostly i have supports who dont ward, take lasthits, kills, never pull. Or carrys farming from min. 1 till game -over. And barely seen them in fights, cause they farm, while whole team gets ganked. Best for me atm. is antimage last pick. Even if no carry is needed. I play him like support first few lvls, farm and try to stay near a team mate,if a fight starts.

Players like the eternity rank for ever approach better. That's why Valve abandoned this idea years ago. But, yes, seasonal ranking in short, event like sprints would solve many problems that people complain about.

I couldn't get out of guardian too, no matter how hard you try you can't 1 vs 9
yes, even you teammates work against you abusing their abilities to toss you into enemies e.g. Rubic with shard
Dota sadly has a very bad owner who espouses boosters, account sellers, maphackers, and whatever businesses that makes money
