Dota 2
Is this game worth getting into?
Hello everyone. I've been playing League for years since 2015. I've tried Dota 2 in the past but could not get into it at the time. Fast forward to now that i'm heavily burned out from League, I was hoping to get a similar but new/refreshing change of pace in terms of moba games. Would anyone really recommmend this game in the current state? It seems like this game has a problem with cheaters, griefers and overall toxic people. I really would like to give this game a try again but would like some experienced players here's opinions. Also i would really appreciate it if you could give some newbie tips or advices for me.

EDIT: After reading some peoples opinions, I'm under the impression that the state and community of this game is failing and under performing. So I'll be making the decision to not be getting into this game. Thank you everyone for your insight and advices.

EDIT2: This one is for those who seems like they cannot read. Read this. I MADE MY DECISION ALREADY. No need to comment of your displeasure of this game any more. Please use your eyes for once in your life and stop commenting on this. I have made my decision already if you guys could read past 2nd grade level. No more redundant (too bad you elementary school kids can't even know what this word means) "This game is bad stay away" copy paste. I've said I made my decision to stay away, now stop saying the same thing over and over that everyone else has already said.

Dota 2 gameplay mechanics are the best I have seen so far.
The tutorials will help you to get a really good foundation.
Ignore MMR and try to enjoy the gameplay mechanics.

Worst community ever, devs do nothing to fix it, if only you already hate other people and there's no one around you who can suffer from you mental get's rail off, then only then consider if you should play

If you like MOBA then yes..

Dota 2 is a lot more hard then LoL..

Cheaters, toxic and griefers are in every online game..
Expecially on LoL and you probaly know it more then me if you play LoL from 2015..

If you wanna try Dota 2 then i suggest you to play a lot with bots for the moment..

I also tell you that on Dota 2 there isn't the jungle role but instead 2 support hard and soft..

Hard is the one who goes in safe lane with the carry(Adc)..

Soft is the one who starts offlane but he has to roam..

So, on LoL Adc goes aganist each other in bot lane, on Dota 2 no..

Carry goes aganist the offlaners..

Bot lane is the safe lane of the Radiant(Blue team on LoL)..

Top lane is the safe lane of the Dire(Red team on LoL)..

Mid is the same of LoL i guess..

There are no drakes, no barons, no herald.. Just the Roshan..

On Dota 2 you can deny your allies creeps so enemy laner doesn't get the farm..

Here on Dota 2 there is the courier who can travel from the base to you with the items that you buy..

If i will remember other things i will write you them here..

Welcome to dota2! Best way to learn is play the tutorial, familiarize yourself with most of the heroes and items and have fun. https://www.dotabuff.com/learn/lol go here to see what champs could be close to what heroes we have in dota2. Don't forget to mute enemies and have fun.

this is a blatant lie.you go to steam forum on any multiplayer online and you get same kind of hostile toxic enviroment.
It has 0% to do with it the game and 100% to do with how people act in any online competitive multiplayer game.
I have max behaviour score and rarely encounter 'all these toxic people' steam forum users claim exist.
Simply out if you act toxic and grief you get matched with those people in low behaviour brackets.
Op the matchmaking system matches you based off behaviour score.if you flame and grief the score drops and you get more likely matched with these kind of people.
Keep behaviour score max and you dont encounter this kind much.

Can you go into more detail as to WHY you do not recommend?
Why are you burned out on League? If its because its stale or boring, then Dota would be great. If its for any other reason, like its too much effort or you need more relaxing use of your free time, Dota has a depth and demand for attention that wouldn't be good for you.

As an AI language model, I don't have personal opinions or experiences, but I can provide some general information about Dota 2.

Dota 2 is a popular MOBA game with a large and dedicated player base. It has a steep learning curve and can be challenging for new players, but it can also be very rewarding once you get the hang of it. While there are certainly issues with cheaters and toxic players, these are problems that are unfortunately present in many online multiplayer games. However, there are also many friendly and helpful players in the Dota 2 community who can offer advice and guidance to new players.

If you're interested in trying Dota 2, I would recommend starting with the tutorial and playing some bot matches to get a feel for the game mechanics. You can also watch streams and tutorials online to learn more about the game. Additionally, joining a friendly community or finding some friends to play with can make the learning process more enjoyable.

Overall, whether or not Dota 2 is worth getting into is a matter of personal preference. If you enjoy the MOBA genre and are willing to put in the time and effort to learn the game, then it could be a great choice for you.
